Guest kmhood Report post Posted October 4, 2012 "- an imported mare from England, who won 3 races, and had a Timeform Rating of 100" I really find this quote from your letter above for this foal entered into the Festival section hard to believe, guess it depends on whether the black type is dense enough but with such a time form rating herself, would have thought her foal should have been placed higher in the sale. Quite disappointing, this business sometimes. Was thinking of selling mine but when I asked, this foal (2yo)now would have only made Festival. My 2yo Sir Percy out of my O'Reilly mare and she is again pregnant to him. She missed to him in between times so should have had 3. I am keeping my filly 2yo. to race. There is a link to get Sir Percy news on this thread somewhere - all quite interesting and of course I have him on my Arion tracker so get results of all his progeny. Clive said this dam (of my Sir Percy) should produce a black type winner so here is hoping. Our Golan fillies were supposed to clash at The Oaks according to him. Sadly have not seen his one out racing. Mine won 2nd time up, just started racing, now a 4yo.

Forrest 78 Report post Posted October 9, 2012 I dont think anyone is comparing SIR PERCY to HIGH CHAPARRAL or DANEHILL , just stating that given the numbers he covered in the NH, he has made a promising start. And as far as HC goes , he had the might of coolmore behind him in the NH and although his results were good ,the number and class of mares were far superior to SP ,and I was a keen observer having a first crop yearling out of his SH progeny. Furthermore, to this day I think we can agree his best progeny have come from his SH stock. Maybe we can at least give SP the courtesy of waiting till his SH stock are well into their 3yo season? Sorry, did not look that deep into your stats, just took it for granted anytime anyone brings up DANEHILL, the comparison is usually not a good one.
