Willow Grove 11 Report post Posted July 15, 2012 All about training people to unit standards, recognition for the skills people already have. I imagine this person would sign track riders and stable hands up to national certificates in things like stable management etc and work with employees and employers to get people through the unit standards. All about generating money from government in the way of funding for training.
fairleez 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2012 I think it only applies from 1st August...ie..if you are already a stable-hand/track rider, you won't have to obtain the training. (Go to Page 40 of the latest NZ Thoroughbred Racing Monthly...) 100% on the job training, using a "learners work diary.
Willow Grove 11 Report post Posted July 16, 2012 Its the same as any other industry and the idea as to add credits to on job learning. In most cases the employeer will keep a diary of skills employee can complete and diary will be evidence of employees ability to complete said tasks. From the the ITO assessor will sign employee off as compentent in things like stable management and care of horses etc.
Kiah 13 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Every industry is doing this to enable the recognition (quantification to qualitisation) of the skills held by its work force.
