I have just learnt that if you place a fixed odds bet before the TAB announce the promotion of cash back, it doesn't qualify!

Surely the whole idea of fixed odds is getting a bet on early in the hope that the dividend will drop, but if you want to qualify for the cash back bonus, apparently you have to check the 'Promotions' on the website to see if it's been announced!

Where is this made public?

What’s the issue? Are you wanting them to offer the bonus back as soon as the market opens or calling for them to give it to you retrospectively?

I can’t say I’ve have ever decided to take a bet or not take a bet based on if it qualifies for a bonus bet or not.

Why is it not possible to announce the promotion at the same time as the fixed odds are posted. I don't bet because of the promotion either, but why should i be penalised for betting when the odds are posted?

That’s like buying something at Briscoes on Tuesday at 10% off and then you hear the Briscoes lady on the radio Wednesday saying a massive up to 50% off sale beginning Thursday…absolutely no difference.

you should call Mr Duke from Briscoes if you had the same issue with them and see how this theory of yours would fly 😂

The whole idea of opening fixed odds for a Friday meeting on Tuesday afternoon is apparently to encourage people to bet early, yet those people who do don't qualify for the bonus cash offer because the promotions department haven't announced the promotion. Retailers don't encourage to buy products early

I suppose thats how promotions work. If you bet on Betcha, you can only use promotions on that day, you need to click on them when placing bets, if you place day before you do not qualify to receive. At least with TAB if promotions are confirmed, you can place bets day before and still qualify.

Sorry I can't see that having a bet is the same s buying from a retailer.

Its the same sort of thing…discounts and promotions.

you can’t go back to the retailer on Thursday when the sale starts and say look I brought this on Monday, give me the difference between the price I brought at and the sale price…same with bonus bets.

you take the risk having a fixed odds bet early that you may miss out on a promotion and again if the bet fixed odds early, you have the risk of deductions….its called gambling. These days you don’t just gamble on the outcome of a race…you gamble on maybe or maybe not getting a promotion, maybe it maybe not there’s a scratching and you get deductions.

What pisses me off is the short time you get to spend the bonus cash.

I have been taking the easy money off Betcha for the past couple of months and have about $1000m in Bonus bets due at the end of the year but will be out of the country when they are due to be paid out. They may well be paid out well before then but with access to my account I won't know and won't be able to use them.

Yes I have a friend who will check every couple of days in case they are paid out early, and to advise me the current dividends so as to how I best use them.

How to get the easy bonus cash and or get an odds increase of 17% (or 37%- a bit riskier) on any bet you have?

Betcha have 2 "rescue multi" bets everyday - you need to take a multi with 4 legs and if one misses you get up to $50 in bonus bets back.

So use your 2 M Rescues every day with one bet coupled with Carter $1.08, Dunns $1.08 and Blair $1.01 ( you could add M McNab to get another 20% but that is risking injury and you have to wait until the end of the galloping season to get paid out.)

Carter and Blair have enough of a buffer in that even with injury they still have a big enough buffer on the others to still win comfortably and Dunns should be paid out now. to be dead safe just add Dunns to any bet you have all up on Dunns and you get 8% on your dividend (yes still have to wait until the end of the year unless they pay out early) - that's better interest than the banks pay. (but no bonus cash as only 2 legs and you need to have 4)

To get up to the $1000 I have due means I have had 20 losing bets each earning $50 BCash and have been betting on 2 multi rescues every raceday and have been doing this for the past couple of months (Carter and Dunns were more than $1.08 for many of them) so you can imagine how many winning bets I have due come end of year.

Get on and get plenty - here are a couple of examples

The only reason I can think of, that the TAB post the fixed odds for Friday night on Tuesday afternoon, is that they want to encourage people to bet early. However, their 'promotions' department penalises them for doing so by holding back advertising the bonus back on races 1 and 2 that, at the moment anyway, has been a regular feature. Even the supervisor I spoke to on the TAB helpline said, 'I can see your point'.
