Trialling Friday @ Cambridge synthetic..she only has to walk out of Marsh's barn to get on the track so why not? She performed huge last time in and I thought she looked physically well away from being mature. It'll be interesting to see her run again, could be in for an exciting few months with her.

Have you done a backward flip?

Weren't yo so against them or at least the way we in NZ, were preparing them?

Nope. Sent a horse to race at Riccarton on it as soon as I was confident it was ok. Won a couple on it that season. You must be thinking of someone else. Did have a bit to say about their maintenance and prep after that though.

Scares the crap out of me these good horses trialing on the synthetic.

She won't be doing much in a trial, no doubt she works on the synthetic so it'll be a tad more than a working gallop. Bigger fish to fry coming up for her.

Don't care , a horse of her value I just wouldn't risk it .

There is a reason that field numbers fall away as the season goes on .

There is nothing wrong with the Poly. It is a fantastic surface

And there was Pitty telling all and sundry on Trackside yesterday that the Riccarton one is the best in the world!!!

I never knew he trained in all those Asian and European tracks- you learn something new every day

He had El Chico , you wont get a horse with 'dicky legs' that has run more sub 1.09 1200s and 1.21 1400s on tracks you just dont see that firm anymore...but... the horses who were running the time at Cambridge dont seem to have gone on with it .jurys out

The biomechanics of running a horse on a firm track and a poly track is very different. The break over is different. The limb leaves the ground differently. Firm ground uses less energy per stride than the poly too.

Was it El Chico that wanted a firm track that day at Trentham? But Mufhasa found the strip of the track to be in?

Finally got around to watching those 2 trials from Taupo . Well Written impressive but boy Drops of God was extra , there is a big race in this mare this prep .

1 to watch out of each heat and I'm sure everybody caught them , She's a Dealer in the first and Checkmate in the 2nd , both good bets first up .

One question , why was Hostility running in these heats , does nothing for his confidence , though he went alright considering the class of field , but you do have to wonder if he's another expensive failure .

I thought Wolfgang's two trials have been extra good from a stayer.

And a second and a half faster than WW winning by 4 1/2 lengths. Read into it what you will. Bring on spring racing !
