Comp starts in 3 weeks time but register your entry on this thread - you want to be in the first 40 to register.   We typically don't get many more than 40, and we will take as many as want to enter, but one element of the comp will be restricted to the first 40. We can also manage this with less than 40 entrants.

We've had a few who have started recent comps and quickly lost interest. That's your prerogative as I know 14 weeks is a long time, but please only register if you intend to be in this for the duration.

• runs for 14 Saturdays (15 August - 14 November).
• individual competition.
• the same standard format in terms of picking, for all 14 weeks - 12 races, one or two picks, two best bets.

Here is roughly how it will work.  I think a nice combination of the familair with something a little different.  Three comps within the one comp (but you only have to submit one set of picks each week)

Premier league - first 40 entrants to register go into a premier league round robin comp - in each of the first 13 weeks they will be up against 3 different opponents and earn points depending on how many of the three matches they win. This means each of the 40 entranst will play every one of the other 39 entrants over 13 weeks.  At the end of this 13 weeks the entrant with the most points is the Premier League champion.  Points for and against differential will split ties.  

Champions league - in each of the 13 weeks the entrant with the highest score will be the weekly champion and they will progress to a Champions final in Week 14 where they will face off against the other weekly winners.  If someone wins more than one week they will get two entries in the Champions final (capped at two entries).   This element of the comp will ensure that people who aren't doing well in the League table still have something to play for right to the end - win a week and they progress to the Champions final.

Cup final - in Week 14 the top 2 in the Premier League table will face off in the Cup Final.
