Usually its about the certainties that get beat but it goes wider than this. You've got to feel for the connections of Little Red Rocket who in her first raceday start was put down after fracturing a hind leg in R1 Ellerslie. But also spare a thought for Nigel Tiley and the connections of Azizi, also a first starter in the same race. According to the LoveRacing site Mr Tiley has only one in work at present and he wouldn't have been expecting the filly to finish at the tail some 75L in arrears. At least (hopefully) the filly will get to line up on another occasion.

 From the Stipes Report
AZIZI (S Collett) - Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages with the bit becoming displaced near the 700 metres resulting in AZIZI shifting outwards approaching the 600 metres hampering LITTLE RED ROCKET and PERFECT CHAOS. Eased down from near the 450 metres. Rider reported that after the bit had become displaced, she had limited control of the filly, so she elected to ease her mount down.
