Do you still not get it ??? .. still spouting off praises for the Cole kennel today while commentating at Cambridge.

That kennel is a big part of greyhound racing NZs downfall. We don't give a toss about their success, as its been detrimental to the demise of the racing here.

You used to also waffle on about Freeman, another who brought the sport into disrepute.

Its not bloody helping

Roso will likely be " muzzled " by his employer so he can't get proactive n positive about where the industry is heading. Eg " pump up " trainers who are about to be reduced to unemployment when industry is closed. What would you suggest the commentators do Pallisor? " Dead air is not acceptable!

Trainers have transgressed and been 'held to account' and or not held to account as you would believe that they should have! Don't shoot the messenger for he has a job to do even if it doesn't comply to your wishes! Equally those who transgress also have a right to redeemption whether you like or not!

Has Palliser written a Submission to help STOP the Bill to ban our industry?

Has Palliser written a Submission to help STOP the Bill to ban our industry?

No I haven't written a submission, I gave up a year ago.

The industry has had years of chances to do better but just sat on it's hands and done nothing.

Rogues have got away with blue murder. I have had several dogs with really good honest trainers who gave up years ago because they couldn't compete with the B.S which is this rife.

They advised me to do the same.

I wanted to do a submission, but there is nothing good, positive or pro-active to say.

The industry say please do a submission, but don't back it up with anything positive to add for the future, it's just more of the same old. It's an old cliche but if you don't get rid of the bad apples then prepare to fail

Who knows? But it does represent the last hope irrespective of how futile or forlorn it may be! It also gives " experts " like Palliser an opportunity. Maybe his/her written effort can become significant as it could easily be a " sum of the parts " scenario!

You share nothing new there Palliser but what would be new would be for you to actually write a submission! An opportunity for you to be positive and proactive!

I never bothered either what would change if the ban was reversed there is no way GRNZ could continue to run the Industry they would have to do what they did in Australia and let the government take control. GRNZ have never listened to the participants over the last 10yrs or more so what would change 🤔  I see Mrs Cole has a lot of scratching in race 6 at Wanganui tonight down to a field of 3 what a crock of shit every week you see the same kennel scratching dogs to end up with small fields when are the GRNZ going to wake up to this or do they not want to. I was once told we can't rock the boat with the Cole Kennels we need them for our court case 🤣🤣

Commentators day on 16 Feb now 2 very negative posters on here should turn up and rubbish the trainers to there face I'm sure they will all be there supporting greyhound racing to the end not like you

you are a very sad person who got caught out now michael dore did what he could for greyhounds and so have the greyhound trainers you continue to bag i bet alot of them will be at kumara tmow sociallising with their galloping and harness licenced holders which you are not by the sounds of it no doubt they are having a laugh about you

Please explain to me what you mean by I got caught out. All these trainers you talk about some of them may disagree with you that they have been helped out by the actions of the people running there industry. And by the way I have some trainers mates who will be at Kumara today I hope they have a great day not all trainers are bad Eggs. I do have a question for you why do you hide behind a fake name on this site 🤔 if you believe in what you spoute put up your real name you no mine would love to no yours

Apathy is a real problem but who cares? We all have our views on why our industry is terminal and many would agree that GRNZ's action  or inaction are a significant factor in the demise of greyhound racing! That said, a submission was the real and only opportunity for OTB and pro greyhound racing peoples to have influence in any possible stay of the ban! Futile? Maybe but less futile if multitudes took time to submit writing a submission. Many thanks to those that took time to do so! As the saying states, " Better to have tried and failed than not tried at all . "

I hear you Bob, and it's people like you that deserve better. I always follow your fabulous Grand Vue Ace and recognize how much you care for and love your dog.

I admire you for standing up till the last curtain. But for me its a complete and utter shambles and I'm completely over it.

Maybe if the association got off their arses and came up with an excellent plan for the future, that addressed the multitude of wrongs in greyhound racing including getting rid of the bad apples, that may give some glimmer of hope.

But no, it's still the same old drivel. Running around with a few stop the ban tee shirts, or the "we love our dogs and they love to race" slogans, or the so many of millions of dollars pumped into the economy blah blah .. doesn't address the issues one bloody bit.

Anyway good luck to you

In my mind I can’t get past the notion that banning greyhound racing, under the guise of animal welfare, is actually more about horse racing pressure on Winston,Kieran, etc. Since greyhounds became a part of the TAB system, the horse people have always believed that the dogs got a disproportionate share of the financial cake, probably correctly. This way that will end.

The true test may be whether NZ bans betting on overseas greyhound racing - unlikely but telling.

I share many of your views Palliser & even asked GRNZ what their Plan B was? Got the usual reply; no reply! Suggested that something new was needed. Like just 2 track bases in NZ - Wanganui & Canterbury each with a Straight Track and a one turn track! They had nothing to lose by getting a bit creative but when GRNZ are not capable of a reply (common practice) then perhaps they are just    " not capable "! Personally, I feel this whole demise of our industry has been orchestrated by several parties: totally political. Can't decide whether the perceived incompetence is real or their plan as a means to and end!      Whatever, their Judicial Review that was suppose to be a " trump card "  turned out to be little more than a joker !

Palliser, what confidence can we have, as you said, that GRNZ " came up with an excellent plan? Really? Their previous excellent plan turned out to be the joker and was withdrawn!

Peter, the government has stated that the TAB will still import greyhound races from Australia! How bloody hypocritical is that?

Please inform me what Micheal Dore has done for the Industry with out mentioning the failed PBD.  I only had a few questions I send in an email and I still waiting for a reply.  But now I left the dogs I dont expect to hear.  But reading and talking to people still in the industry Mr Dore or other's dont reply.  Kumara was a great day out bloody wind ruined the day.  Alan seems to have a long history with the dogs and is posted how I feel and some of the trainers whom he has mentioned have been protected and got off with too much.

All Dore did was abuse and call people names. Couldnt answer one question here without throwing some type of insult at someone which is what GRNZ do best anyway, dodge the question/issue and never deal with it

When he used to be on Trackside years ago, I could never understand a thing he said, talked a load of gibberish.

Bob I totally agree with your thoughts re the government/political deal.

Also the deals include the SPCA who have no idea re greyhounds , they are just looking for another funding source. They are well known for putting down animals after a half hearted attempt at finding a new home for them.
