Why oh why do you leave things for so long ? ... you've had months and months to come up with something.

Like always with you lot, the horse has literally bolted. I love greyhound racing, but despise some of the going ons over the years that you have done absolutely nothing about. In fact you are culpable by letting the bad apples carry on, and allowing one to become president of a club ffs.

What are you doing or saying to convince all that things will definitely change ? .. what's your plan ?? .. can you present a quality plan as a real living document proving you are all over the issues ?

Or are you going to keep blabbing " We love our dogs and our dogs love to race " .. or $159 million into the economy. That's just the same old same old and means nothing.

I feel so sorry for all the good people in the industry let down big time by the few bad apples and a hugely ineffective administration.

Agree and GRNZ want people to submitt to help them now.  Maybe they should of listen to the good people in the industry  past and present and done their damn jobs, took the reviews seriously  and didn't have their heads in the sand and make bad decisions to look after the Rouges of this industry.

They still are being rouges. Heres an example this month. Spion Rose has been listed as 50k stakes all year, but because Fahey cant make the races due to ferry issues, hes obviously gone to his wife on the board and they have changed the stakes from 50-30k. A joke of an industry. Corrupt to the very end. Theyve been trying to keep this quiet and play it off as normal but all the messages are on their FB group for LPs

Why is the GRNZ changing the stakes of races when certain parties cant attend?

I believe so. They no longer appear to list the members publicly on the site. My understanding is when a certain party realised they couldn’t go north due to ferry issues/bookings, they attempted to shift the Spion Rose to Christchurch, and when that failed, they reduced the stakes from 50k to 30k within two weeks of the event.

This just highlights the ongoing integrity issues in the sport and why its ended up in this position. The board should be replaced, as their decisions here suggest they’re prioritising themselves over the people in the industry. It’s hard to know what other questionable choices they may be making in these final months.

Now they have an account on here, maybe they could publicly answer why the above occured?

Here’s another genius blaming Winston Peters because his own corrupt board couldn’t get its act together. Loyal to the end to a sinking ship.

The facts are simple: two weeks before the Spion Rose is meant to be run, they strip $20k from the advertised stake and redirect it to a breeders’ race in the South, races originally promoted for New Year’s moved to early December, conveniently timed for those who couldn’t travel North.

And surprise, surprise: the main beneficiary of this shuffle just happens to be Fahey. The board is quite literally making last-minute changes to suit a tiny minority who also happen to sit on the board. These guys can't get boats so they will just make sweeping changes like this that impacts everyone

This benefits no one in the CD (where the race is actually held) and no one in the North. At a time when the industry is fighting for survival, this is what the board chooses to prioritise. It’s a real shame.

All these messages are visible in the LPs facebook group, it's hilarious that they don't make any real justifications for this but hey, at least the southerners get their race with additional stakes right

I think you all might be barking up the wrong tree Jean is no longer on the GRNZ Board she is the President off the Christchurch greyhound racing club. I think if you dig abit deeper you will also find there is another Board member on the GRNZ Board who would also have alot to gain from this latest decision and that is Mr Roberts

It's like the decision that was made a few years ago to transfer the NZ Breeders from Wanganui to Christchurch. That was to benefit Canterbury trainersI see in a statement from GRNZ today that all stakes are going up this month.

I have it on pretty good authority what happened from another member.

This decision was also ridiculous, but atleast it wasnt made 2 weeks before the race is due to run (from what i recall). This decision was only made once some people found out they couldnt get north

Have learnt that Jean Fahey is no longer on GRNZ but is on Christchurch board as president role.  But sure she and Dave would still have a puppet on GRNZ

It really doesn't matter, true to form it's crooked to the core. Has been forever and never addressed despite a million warnings

Craig Rendle rigged the LP Rep Election when Chairman of the board, proceeded to make millions with his buddy Cole.

That was about 10years ago. Now we gone... greedy bastards highjacked a hobbie sport and drove it in to the ground.

I was thinking...  Greyhound Racing lasted all of about 50years in this country... 40years of that was great, hobbie trainers, hundreds of trainers all throughout the country, happy with the ribbons, the camaraderie... the last 10 years or so, with 'professionalism', with money came greed, it became about gambling and money and greed. 10 years of that and we gone....

Team, there are a couple of 'nearly correct' assertions in play.  A schedule of Features for the season was sent to clubs on 5 Aug .  This schedule had a number of significant changes from previous seasons' monthly Premiers.  It had just four Premiers alongside deliberately 'clashing' Features in each island in the other months in order to minimise travel.  In Sept a $20k Addington Feature clashed with the $20k Wanganui Cup and in October $20k Features were run at both Cambridge and Addington on the same Day/Night.  This schedule had a $20k Spion Rose clashing with the $20k Far South Challenge in December.
Naturally such changes created debate which resulted in a revised schedule being sent out on 24 Nov - this revision included a $50k Spion Rose on 19 Dec.  It was this short notice of the increase to the Spion Rose that drew further debate and saw the stakes for the Spion Rose and Hatrick Classic swapped - so the latter now carries a $50k stake.

Mr / Ms Ref, whilst I have a pretty good memory (I can clearly recall Ron Wilson telling me on-air at Hutt Park in June 1993 that #1 Rojean's Top "doesn't turn" and so could cause havoc at the corner.  He was right and two dogs fell - this was the catalyst for PBD because if you can predict it, you can prevent it.  Rojean's Top in pink would have prevented the falls) However, I do not recall any trainer ever seeking my advice about buying a greyhound and am fairly certain it has never happened.  I gotta say, it does seem odd that this was on your mind at 3:00am this morning?

Don't worry Mr Dore has a closet full of secrets from back when he was working for the TAB. Made perfect sense he would land at GRNZ to spread his magic dust and cement the sports demise.

OK Gutless, list the "secrets" or withdraw and change your nappy.
