Max is trying to get a lead or three for Waverley today...
here's what I'm reading about an 8yo gelding by Pentire who's resuming in a 12-horse field of Maidens after a 6-month break; has had 7 careers starts, never placed top 3, no recent trials are mentioned (so one assumes he ain't had any), has an in-form apprentice jockey on claiming 3kg.
The 'guru' (I will call him Al saith:
Back after a long spell. Finished off last preparation second last of 7 at this track on March 19 over 1400m, in the wet; 9 len behind Lady Anglesea carrying 58.5kg at $13.60. First up last campaign 5th of 10 at Tauherenikau on December 11 over 1400m, 3 len behind Dendo carrying 58.5kg at $24.50. Can return in winning form.

He's at $30/9 ....so on what basis is the last remark 'Can return in winning form" justified?

You can argue he's got 1 chance in 12 of being proved right.
The horse's name is Triathlon. The only things I like it about it first-up are the trainer (who knows her stuff) and the odds

Funny old betting there today.

Had a few bucks on last winner Powerofpersuasion which was 6 or 7th favourite and paid over $10.

Took a double with stablemate Life of Riley for interest. It is paying $4.60.

The double is paying $12.80…….someone has had a go…..🙄

I know we have discussed how useless the TAB comments are, but this is just silly from today's WFA race at Tauranga:

LADIES MAN (1) has been competing at G1 level, and was placed third in the Livamol Classic 4 weeks ago. He has a good draw, and the conditions of this race make him very hard to beat.

Sharp 'n' Smart fished 3rd in the Livamol while Ladies Man suffered a cardiac problem and dropped out.

It's a hopeless situation, and Entain are completely misleading punters, particularly those that are new to the game.

It's all AI, and they have no intention of changing back to humans.

They actually have ambitions to use humans for tips/content, but unsure about the terrible form captions.

Don't know why they would bother.  Loads having a cry about the human tips too.  Cant win - whingers will whinge.

It's irrelevant how the tips go. Having content is good for SEO, driving traffic. They're only now taking advantage of affiliate marketing (because of Entain), but the sites are limited.

That's the problem when you have a monopoly, especially with Kiwis being banned with most Aus bookies. You can take the foot off the pedal and coast, because all organic traffic must come to you.

Glamour Tycoon tomorrow in the Counties Bowl ..drawn barrier 11 over the 1100m dash and the form wizards say:

In form: Tauranga 1300m win after Arawa third; good gate;

a gate so good she's been scratched. LOL

By way of background, in general terms, you all may like to look up the name Michael WITBROCK who is leading NZ'S AI program and now has a Government contract.

He did projects with and learnt from Peter Toma, a Hungarian, who has link with Cryonics/ Cryogenics in Arizona when they both lived in Dunedin region.

Toma set up SYSTRAN system which some of you may be familiar with

AI has also been lead by Marvin Minsky who is linked with Epstein files

Mentioning this because we all need to be aware of background Projects , funded by IBM and the how this is coming about into our daily lives.

All been said about the limitations of AI... and a hundred and one examples. But this one takes the cake, of Titicaca  R6 Wairarapa RC, 10 Dec:
"Good effort to finish in the placings two starts back then missed the frame last time when 15th in a Group 3 at Riccarton Park over 3200m. Hard to have this tough line-up".

Well, blow me down, today's event is a big drop to r75 with the current favourite not having won for four years. Some tough line up. And the placing two starts back was actually in the Metropolitan, an Open Handicap. The TAB version of AI just doesn't join the dots.

Yeah, we get it, AI saves money. But doesn't the TAB have any professional pride? Surely they know but choose it ignore it. Maybe an IT whiz to install a different version of AI. Would it help? Better still, give the job back to humans.

By the way, the Love Racing form guide gets it better:
"No go in NZ Cup and might find this too short" .

Either a different version of AI or some one with a brain is writing it.

La Dorada  R1 at Te Rapa ........unbelievable

Imported three-year-old having first run in this area for the Mark Walker & Sam Bergerson stable. Finished 11th over 1200m in the G3 Scarborough Stakes at Moonee Valley at her last appearance 11 weeks ago

That really is one of the worst.

Ted that's as unforgivable as the  manifestly harsh  fine handed out to this jockey at Trentham on Saturday.

Race 3 7   E Leighton      Weighed out in modified body protector [Rule 610(4)] $1000

My rule book may be outdated but says

A Rider may not wear or have in their possession a body protector or a skull cap that has been modified in any way. Breaches of the Rule are normally captured by the Minor Infringement System and carry a prescribed penalty for a first breach of a $500 fine.

Ted, My Rule book also says your Group One winner and Champion 2 year old of last season goes super on Saturday .

So I'm confused , does she always ride in it or was it a one off ? And why would she do it , once or always ?
