He does seem improved this time in after a quiet-ish season last time in. First win over 2700 too, after several failures, so is he going great or is Merlin no just a perennial placegetter?

Probably not. I think the only way they can be beaten is by a late swooper. There are two Kiwi horses that have huge sprints if saved for the last run We Walk By Faith and Chase A Dream. It's possible to come from a long way back at Addington and win -- Five Crowns did it last night. If We Walk By Faith has a soft run in the Cup and is three or four lengths from the leaders on the home bend he could rocket past them. Maybe! 🤣

Bettor's Delights are better staying horses than the Art Majors.

Guys, I aint worried bout Merlin, he's big block V8 of a horse it's gunna take a few more tune-ups to get him where Baz needs him to be 🤗 STBetter is a happy chappy, he an his best bud Harrison got their tails up right now, they're tickin over nicely as a team 😁 we just gotta get Better Knuckle Up, an Cold Chisel through....

I dont think Chase a dream is a 2 miler. And the swoopers wont swoop if Leap to fame is running from the mile. Thing is these 2 Aussies are out and out champs. LTF is best horse ive probably seen or up there.  The kiwis are nice cup horses. I think we're waiting fir Marketplace bext year.

I think We Walk by Faith is our best hope . I really cant see anything else troubling the Aussies . But STB if he leads trails could be a good chance

Yes, he looks like a staying horse, Bettor's Delight say no more! STB's got the breeding for it because his dam Lucky Pocket is out of the Bo Scots Blue Chip mare Pleasant Franco, who of course is the dam of the great Christian Cullen. STB looks the best of the northerners at this stage.

At this point reckon we gotta hold faith in our great trainers, and their horses, yes those 2 ozzie bros are clearly outta the box, but in racin I have learned nothin is a surety til passed the post 😄 our trainers will have seen the 2 oz horses, and done their homework; by Cup time we'll be ready, if not, at least we go down whackin....roll on 2nd tues in Nov, can't wait....

We got a chance. It's just not about the horses either old mate. The drivers big part of it. I think if Swayzee leads he will be hard to catch because of young Cameron Hart. Hart is the best front running driver I've seen, he has Swayzee trucking along in front and always gets a bit more from the horse in the final 50m. Horses keep running for Hart. Swayzee can win three in a row. It's going to be a memorable race old mate.

Although Janitor my mate, there still needs to be a mighty engine in front of him to work with 😁 once the stand start is negotiated, then it's down to business....if the weather plays it's part we could even see a lowerin of the record, won't that be summit 🤗 I just hope the draws are kind to us and it's a Kiwi that rolls home.....or, or I will be forced to use my secret weapon, I will back both Swayzee and the Leaper, trust me they will loose....when I back a horse no matter how great they are, the cone of doom descends on them 🤣 always.....
