Race Winners with Both Shamardal and Street Cry in Pedigree (2024–2025)

Disclaimer: AI assisted so may have inconsistencies - let me know of any errors or additions. I checked as much as i have time, there may well be other horses especially from the Northern Hemphere.

"Shamardal and Street Cry are closely related being from the same female family - Street Cry is from Irish Oaks winner Helen Street and Shamardal is from one of her daughters in Helsinki. Given the rise of sire sons and grand-sons of Street Cry and Shamardal you can imagine there will be increasing attempts to utilise them in pedigrees to replicate Helen Street and up to this point there have been seven SW’s {at the time of writing} to carry a double cross of Helen Street and they are led by G1 winner Victor Ludorum (GB), who has shuttled to Darley in Australia for the past three seasons." *G1 Pedigree Watch – Helen Street Making Her Presence Felt | Breednet

I looked at results Between January 2024 and July 2025, and five racehorses were identified as winners during this period whose five-generation pedigrees include both Shamardal and Street Cry. This combination—tracing back to the influential mare Helen Street—has produced a notable group of winners, some of whom achieved stakes success ranging from Restricted Listed to Group 2 level.

Summary

All five horses listed above carry both Shamardal and Street Cry within five generations and have achieved race wins in 2024 or 2025 with victories spanning sprint and staying distances, juvenile and mature age groups, and surfaces from turf to synthetic. This may hint that the Shamardal–Street Cry cross could be higher-performing, though still uncommon.

Im still searching for other souces, especially in the northern hemisphere results...but there are not many examples i have found but of the 5 examples here, 4 are STAKES WINNERS - noting its a small sample but rare to find within all winners.

It’s worth noting that Victor Ludorum, the champion French 2YO of 2019 and 2020 French Guineas winner, was out of a mare by Kaldounevees (not Street Cry) – so he didn’t carry Street Cry, but was inbred 3×3 to Helen Street.
