Please post your Week 4 picks on here.   Pick one horse running in any gallops meeting in NZ or Australia this coming Saturday (12 July).

New entrants welcome.

You will have an imaginary $10 each way on that runner.  The entrant with the highest collect on the day is the winner and gets to place a bet for charity on the following Saturday.  If two (or more) entrants pick the same horse, and it has the highest $10 each way collect, the person who posted first will be deemed the winner.  We will use tote dividends (no fixed odds).

In your post please clearly show the meeting, the race number and the selection - names are good because that is easier for people to peruse the selections.  An example of a good simple post might look like this:

Ruakaka, R1, Belle Noire

Posting deadline:  12.10pm (Saturday)  Please post before this time.

If your horse is scratched you can replace up until the posting deadline.  Late scratchings are just bad luck.  In this case you will get a $20 collect.

Another important thing to note about this comp - each week it will be self-scoring.  If you have a collect with your bet, it is up to you to post your collect on this entry thread.  What would be helpful is if you have a collect you quote your original entry post and add your collect to the new post.

We will give you until 9am on Sunday to post your collect - if you haven't done so by then, it won't count.

I've ditched the message up front (in headlights) pointing people to the self scoring rule.  It's been there for two weeks running and still a few people not posting scores - you can lead a horse to water, .............  :)
