racingoutsider 389 Report post Posted February 22 They are switching satellites. If you have your box connected to wifi, it will switch over. We’ve had a busy start to 2025, doing our best to bring you the entertainment and sport you love while managing the important job of preparing to change satellites. Here’s a quick update for you. We’re getting closer to satellite switchover Because our current satellite is approaching the end of its life, some customers have had intermittent signal issues over the summer. We’re sorry about that – and we hope you’ve seen an improvement recently after we made some behind-the-scenes fixes. If you’re still having problems, please get in touch so we can make things right for you. The great news is that our new satellite is now in place and we’re on track to switch to it in early April. But before it swings into action, we have some planned service work kicking off the first week of March (overnight as far as possible so we don’t disturb your viewing). Stay up-to-date with known interruptions by checking sky.co.nz/hellosatellite between now and April. Read what’s next The new Sky Box now keeps you connected We’re hearing from many of you that our new Sky Box (the white one) is providing an awesome experience. It makes it super easy to find scheduled entertainment, as well as catch up on hundreds of hours of On Demand (ready to watch when you are) programming. But we’ve made it even better: a new Sky Box connected to good broadband has a great additional feature – if for any reason your satellite signal drops, your service will automatically cut over to broadband. That means the end to rain fade and signal interruptions. Best of all, you can upgrade today – on us. Give me a new Sky Box More top-flight entertainment A new year always marks the return of award-winning drama and a new season of live sport. There’s plenty in our line-up for you to stay on top of. Still not sure about our new Sky Box? How about the fact that: Sky Entertainment customers can enjoy the Max hub, currently serving The White Lotus, Season 3. It’s perfect for the likes of Super Rugby Pacific - Sky Sport customers will never miss magic moments with instant replays and watch live or from the start features. Enjoy! Thanks for being a Sky customer. So I go on their chat 99+ in the queue Sky TV you are useless and hope you get competition soon so we dont have to pay for your crappy service Ditto Charlie Maxi's 'Sky service has been appallingly bad for over three months. Numerous complaints, still not fixed. They sent an email on Wednesday saying how marvellous they are fixing things "behind the scenes" etc ..oh, and "pay your bill now to avoid disruption of services". What a flocking joke they are. Their CEO Sophie Baloney should be looking for a new job I reckon cos someone will have to fall on a sword and it won't be a fat cat on the Board. Today: Trackside no signal, Vancouver 7s no signal...one or two Sport and Movies channels OK but the others not. Pathetic. Charlie E 790 Report post Posted February 22 Wonder what the excuse will be this time . She will probably say it was due to ET 's finger disrupting the satellite . Well the broadband is a good backup and you do get the benefit of a zillion extra programmes to stream for free. Not entirely Sky's fault either with the Optus satellite decaying much faster than anticipated. Optus decided to put it into a declined orbit i.e. not fixed in location and this limits the number of channels that can be broadcast. SKY are balancing shifting channels between the old and new sattelite and using broadband as a backup.

Irish 334 Report post Posted February 22 I have two questions. 1 (into which you can read whatever you like ) How do I know if my box is connected to WIFI? 2. If you can't contact them they won't know there's no reception so how will it be fixed? 3. (I lied, there's 3 questions) do we get a refund on the number of days we have no reception. Do I hear the sound of hysterical laughing?? 'atmospheric conditions' pull the other one Sky, it jingles. Yep useless F@#@#@ sky no signal saying Atmospheric conditions have interrupted your viewing . So I go on their chat 99+ in the queue Sky TV you are useless and hope you get competition soon so we dont have to pay for your crappy service @Charlie E Atmospheric Conditions have been a bug bear with Radio Transmission for over 100 years and they tell us that the world has made advancement, alas we know Fibre Optic cables have caused Telecommunications to go backwards. We were part of the Sky Digital Trial back in the late 1990's Y2K deregulation era and recall that line of "Atmospheric Conditions" spin back then to Be mindful our networks go through a number of cables before it arrives and some countries they go through have poor infrastructure that is constantly a problem, perhaps a Weather Balloon has hit the cables or a big shark... Haha we looked up "Atmospheric conditions" in Papers Past NZ archives...Milk also changes taste in "Atmospheric conditions". Don't blame locals here because it's an ongoing world wide problem that is unlikely to ever change just like in Golden Olden days. It's those who "own" the wider Telegraph/ Telecommunications who are ultimately responsible and should be held to account for Misleading practices. It's all about making money and to heck with the little folk who always pay for poor services.
