CeeMeNow 371 Report post Posted February 15 The sale is looking a bit sick in the early stages, in the first 25 lots there have been 12 horses passed, 2 withdrawn and 11 sales, lets hope things improve for the vendors over the next 105 lots. JJ Flash 2,622 Report post Posted February 16 NZB happy so there we have it Auckland a success and now its Canterbury's turn albeit they have greater numbers Probably get the usual post sale spiel about how the small breeders are battling and it's not worth breeding these days with such high stud fees I suggest they never look at TB stud fees 25K gets you bugger all these days
unhinged 133 Report post Posted February 16 The Unhinged One was part owner of lot 62 , unfortunately someone tried to discredit the sale but despite that sold for 120.000 we will never know if some purchasers were put off . Karma will hopefully deal to the culprit who feeds Peter Profit absoulte garbage. CeeMeNow 371 Report post Posted February 17 I think you did very well, Bettors were not in demand this year, 13 sold and 3 passed, your sale was $50k more than the next best, which was the $70k paid by the Bagrie's for a colt out of an Artsplace mare who is a sister to Twist and Twirl, dam of King of Swing and Better Twist, (whose yearling sold for $360k) There were only 10 sold for more than yours, 3 of them bought by Stonewall, of those 10, eight were paceing bred, and 4 of them were by Captaintrecherous, not too many buyers at that price point.
