Neither Orchestral nor Snazzytavi accepted--any mail on why that is?

Fairly sure I read somewhere that Snazzytavi had a temperature this morning, and Orchestral camp had other targets in mind

Those two out has turned the HB into a fairly average race .

If the Annabelle Neesham horse wins then we may as well close up and turn off the lights , every average aged horse will be over .

I remember when these races were the highlight of the season .

My favorite horse when I was a teenager was Kings Romance , winner of the then Thibenzole sprint .

It was the Lion Brown most of the time I remember it. The 2,000m was usually the international.

I recall the likes of La Mer, Vice Regal, March Legend and Commissionare.

And of course held on a Tuesday in those days.

Jesus WD , like it's not bad enough then you go and pull out those horses names to just pour more shit on our misery .

I know nothing stays the same but bugger me we have fallen so far .

Kings Romance won the Waikato Sprint in 1974 (was it called the Thibenzole Sprint then?)

The Waikato Sprint was dominated by Taranaki trained horses in the 70's and 80's. After Kings Romance trained at Hawera, came Auditor, Copper Belt, Coobers Queen (first horse I ever patted), Pinson, Abit Leica, Super Tai, Courier Bay twice and Poetic Prince.

In the 90's came Mr Tiz, Veandercross, Western Rd, Snap, Allegro and Avedon.

Sunline won in 2001 and 2002, and then followed Tit For Taat, Darci Brahma, Seachange, Mufasa on 2009 and 2011, Tavistock. Xtravagent in 2016 was probably my favourite.

Melody Belle, Te Akau and Avantage in successive years and Levante and Imperitrize.

Some great names here and great memories.

KR was trained by Malcolm Smith at New Plymouth , check the BCD sprint thread , Rdytdy has posted last 50 years winners . An amazing list of great racehorses .

Yes you are right, it was Auditor who was trained at Hawera not Kings Romance. And hadn't noticed the BCD Sprint thread, would have saved me a lot of time if I had. doh lol
