Dunn Woodend Stable

Neither would spend anything like Dunns have done in say last 3-4 seasons. Yet they are doing very well and are being rewarded with new owners and higher quality stock.

M Pudon is more or less winding down his harness career by the looks of it although i hope he keeps selecting yearlings for stable clients because his record on that score was nothing short of remarkable

Regan Todd cut the number of horses in his stable to put more time into the top horses. I think the G1 horses need individual treatment and it's hard to give them that if the stable has many horses. It worked for Todd with his horses really making their mark this season. The industry is in good hands with some good trainers coming through, Todd, H & A Cullen, N Williamson

Yes the Dunn team cost their owners a fortune, but so does everybody else. The Telfers have to be the worse - their weekly costs must be huge compared to almost everybody else.

Racing horses is an expensive hobby but then again most hobbies are - skiing, fishing, women etc 🤣

Another shocker for followers of the stable today at Nelson, most were well supported but did little today.

Ya put the Moz on em JJ and have jumped the gun. So they won a race ok at Nelson. They are off and racing for the year winning Race 11 at the end of the day.

'Follow Your Dream' winning with the Orangeman driving to break the drought. (John drove the 2nd placegetter for the Edmonds instead )

Shows B Orange class as a driver…. 1 winner in around 20 starters… best driven horse ….  Best driver…..

Given the number of horses they purchase and line up each year it won't be the last this year PS😄

Big chance that horses will improve for 2nd day, they would need to but it happened a few years back and they are a $1.25 fav to win Trainers Premiership in 2025

Who remembers RD's comment that when he looked at the white board, he could see another 40 winners from the stable last season and that was when October?

Can't wait to see the Dynamite videos,  actually last weeks beach video on very majestic has gone past 41,000 , maybe you could pay me Dynamite.  Saturday's are at the beach because that's where my horses are , currently 5 just giving Lobster a spell so down 0ne. Who else promotes our industry for nothing.  How many club's do you volunteer on , how many owners have you bought into our industry for no financial gain . Next time you tell me what I should be doing please enlighten us to what you bring to the table.

Margo Nyhan trained more winners at Nelson today than the Woodend Beach quantity over quality machine.

Tom Bamford trained 2 as well.  Diamond Racing had a win, 2 seconds a 3rd & a 4th from I think 6 starters so fairly consistent.

Great effort by Tom Bamford . with Rakero Rocket especially . Handy easy 1.53 mile today. He can go a bit for sure.

And knocked off Merlin and DSD a month ago in a Group 1 to pick up over 100k at Addington. very nice.

How many horses would a bloke like him (Tom) have in work do you reckon?  The way the 'Rocket' is firing he might get offered a few more !  👍🚀

Just a question with no malice intended but " Do you not have a bet" apart from Trainers premiership?

Put thru 76,000 last time they ran the nz punters comp at Addington about 6 years ago, won Methven punters comp 3 times same as Gasso , now probably only about 1, 000 a week , concentrating more on ownership and breeding a couple,  far bigger gamble.

I think he would train a few Pure mate. He trains for that Dawe, a rich property developer. He has a property by Rangiora Raceway. The rich guy usually buys a few at the yearling sales each year and I think they breed too. His former trainer was the disgraced P. Burrows.

Young Bamford doing a good job though, a G1 winner.

A lot of the top stables have been very inconsistent lately . The only horses I could back with confidence are Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan's . The Dunns and the Telfer runners seem hot and cold these days .

Funny story so far is Barry and Scott currently 130th out of 140 odd,  on the current NZ Trainers Premiership. for with Trainers with a placegetter so far this season 😅

They should be on the winners list shortly , but is quite funny seeing the champions so far down the ladder for the minute.

Lives a gamble…. Fantastic to see money spend on breeding… good luck with breeding success… why does Westview not support concession drivers… Fergalicious today…. No K Newman…. No R Harrison half points….. They are the future…..

Kobyn and Riley both talented drivers . I hope they get looked after in the future . Maybe pick up a few drives from Ben Hope whenever he is suspended 😂

I think H & A Cullen horses consistent and always ready. You can back the stable horses with confidence. Top drivers put on them too, Olivia Thornely, Orange

Regan Todd also can back with confidence. Stable on fire. .
