say no more 3,512 Report post Posted December 27, 2024 This comp is not for the faint hearted and will take a bit of work to compile your selections, but die hard sports fans should enjoy it. You have to pick the winners of the various races and sporting events (listed below) that will take place across 2025. 1 point for each correct selection - most points wins. Please note this rule in particular - you can't pick the same horse, person or team more than once. For examples, you can't pick Scottie Scheffler to win all four of the golf majors - you have to pick a different player in each event, you can't pick Liverpool to win the quadruple, you can't pick Via Sistina to win more than one of the big WFA races. The one exception to this rule is that you can pick a US sports team to win their conference/league and also to win the championship (Superbowl, World Series, NBA finals, Stanley Cup). If you wish you can pick a championship winner that is different to your two league/conference winners. For the avoidance of doubt the sports events listed below are all the mens versions of these events. This may seem a little bit unbalanced but I'm just going with the most popular sporting events. The horse racing events are all gallops events. The easiest way to post your entry is to highlight and copy the events listed below, paste it into a new post and add your selections beside each event. Entries close: Saturday 4 January, 12.00pm (midday) - changed to fall before the Telegraph is run on that day. If you need more time I'll accept late entries up until Sunday 5 January, 7.00pm but you will miss out on a possible point for the Telegraph. say no more 3,512 Report post Posted December 27, 2024 Prizes: I'm putting up $200 and Phil (Alf Riston) has kindly offered to put up $100, so we'll have: $200 to the winner; and $100 to the runner-up Prizes in the form of a single bet (win, place or each way) with 50% of any collect going to the winner and the other 50% to the Huntington's Association. In the event of ties, the tie will be split by the entrant who picked the most Gallops winners (it is a racing site after all), then by the entrant who picked the most Football winners, then the most US sports winners. If these don't split any ties we'll split the prizes in usual tie fashion. jack and Insider

Should be fun following them all though. Brilliant effort Blair getting a set of picks up so quickly. I recommend you change your Carabao Cup pick. Not just because United are shite, but because they are no longer in the Carabao Cup. The four semi-finalists are Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Newcastle. Miami Dolphins fan??
