Rodley should be fined

Recommended Posts

Opie has come back a bit fat as usual ,so cant make the 57kg for Campionessa and Towering Vision . He will be fined accordingly ,but his agent Aidan Rodley should also be fined for accepting rides he knows his rider is not likely to make the weight for..He accepted for  Billy Lincoln at 56.5 kg for goodness sake .This is amateur stuff and has a major affect on owners ,trainers, and punters..These high flying managers need to be held accountable and act in a professional manner..Fine them !!

Thought it was strange he was down to ride some of these at the weights they were carded, given this article was in the herald just 5 days ago..

“I am down to 58.5kg now but I need to do more race riding to get that fitness at a lighter weight back.”

Considering where he was a month ago, Bosson walking (the term jockeys use for their everyday weight) at 58.5kg now is a good platform.

It at least makes him available for good male horses in weight-for-age and handicaps races, but he needs to be riding 57kg or, even better, 55kg to be available for the best age group horses of either sex; races which have some huge stakes at meetings like the Karaka Millions and Champions Day.

I could never understand how Rodley becomes a Manager of top flight jocks.

He doesn't impress me, but he must do something right 🤔

Because of very clever contract clauses that so oftern jockeys sign without independent legal advice example Jockey rides horse in jump out or trail trainer says good ride thanks OH by the way can you ride it next week, Jockey replies yeap but you have to confirm with my agent . Agent does nothing and yet takes 10%   of every thing YES jump out .trails race ride fees and winning %%% easy as money for jam just gotta be in first
