The fillies carry 56.5 in the 1000 gns , that is usually OPB's  low comfort weight , so maybe going to ride at Tauranga where there is a WFA race .

True.  But I understand the original plan was the 2000 Guineas and decisions had to be made.  After his suspension he'd struggle to get 56.5 as well.

No leave him here.

I asked; Who are you the other day, and now I know, so it will be fun debating with him or should I say bating him.

This is from Te Akau.

Opie is taking a break from his riding commitments for personal reasons, and will not be riding for the foreseeable future, including the upcoming Cup Meeting

I have had it officially from TA , so hopefully people can respect the guys privacy and not start speculating .

I hope he ca get things sorted and he gets back on the track , where he belongs .

Just a question , at what point does a high profile racing participants personal lifestyle  create a bad image for an industry an industry that's doing it's very best to upgrade it's public image ?? . Image is everything , does Entain or even T A need some ones personal behavior clouding their aspirations and image building .  Top jocks need good horses , they don't win on the slow ones , who needs who the most ?

Punt for  today $100 fixed at $3.30 a place on rusty lane  race 1

Their personal life is their own business just as yours is.

In terms of anything that breaks laws or regulations there are Racing rules that deal with that.

Geezus there wouldn't be many left in the industry if their personal lives were subject to the far reaching catch-all rule of "bringing racing into disrepute".

Image isn't everything.  Winning is the goal.

Hell there wouldn't he many Jockeys riding in the Cup if you hang their personal life or past behaviours out to dry.  Even JMac has done time for breaking the rules by associating with some dodgy types.

To be honest choice of Lifestyle unless breaking the law or slanderous isn't Entain, TA or anybody else's business. Sure at the track on race day there are rules and expectations to help project racings perfect image (lol) Who really cares if a jockey goes to the races with a boy friend ,girlfriend or a couple of each

All true canon47 now let's talk about the real world , business is business and if the image of racing is tarnished by any issue then no doubt business will act to protect their image , part of this particular issue was on screen , a presenter changed her name (good on her) and that made it public .

Are you serious?  Even if it was anyone else's business what do you expect anyone to do about it?

I think your comments are highlighting another bigger issue in the industry and that is that some people think for some reason that Racing is different to any other industry.

To be fair there wouldn't be many people who have no contact with racing in some shape that would have any knowledge of this situation .

We are pimple to most of society .

And only occasionally does the pimple pop!
