You can't have it both ways champ. Not sure what you are talking about. But the track officially started the day at a Soft 5. Then was upgraded 1 rating after each race. By the Sarten it was an S7. The betting market would only see the posted ratings. Or are you suggesting it gets its information from random forums? You know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm actually happy if your hallowed 'betting markets' have the horse at longer odds. Better value - you're probably not familiar with that concept. Sorry but rather than argue with you for the sake if arguing I'd just say that you raised the point that it drifted from 8's to 20's in the market inferring it was to do with track conditions. Canterbury Man 96 Report post Posted October 31 If you check the Strwards report at the time of the race the Sarten was posted as a Soft 7 and then retrospectively downgraded to an 8.

Fair enough. That's your opinion. I quite like his/her posts which generally seem to be soundly based, unlike some. Be better in my view to keep the focus on debating racing issues and sharing information though, rather than playing the man instead of the ball. This was supposed to be a thread about the Te Rapa track. As Chris said, the personal attacks are getting a bit boring. However I just posted an observation that I thought the horse would perform better than it did especially since it was the first to be named in a Kiwi B slot. It's had a maiden win at Taupo from which very little form has yet to emerge and a 5th and a distant 6th. The last start against the top 3yr old colt and one of the leading fillies. The latter better suited to a firmer track. It will have to show something in its next race at Grp level before it is prepared for the Kiwi. As a Canterbury man [not to be confused with Doug] you will surely remember John. Yes. Though I was more of a Manawatu person during Grey Way's peak years, I well remember those perennial clashes with Copper Belt at Awapuni, though I hitch-hiked to Ellerslie to watch him win the Easter ahead of the likes of Tudor Light and Vice Regal with a brilliant ride from Bob Skelton. There is an exception to every rule though, and he did win the Chirnside Stakes at Caulfield on soft footing. The same was said about Courier Bay - I sent $440 dollars (from an all up bet) with are a relative to put it on with the bookies when he had his first start in Oz - only to have rain on the day It was the equivalent of about 3 weeks of my apprentice wages back then

It was actually Heavy. The Chirnside is now called the Schillaci Stakes Grp 2. Bellatrix Star won it this year. Grey Way had had 16 starts by this time in his career.
