The slip happened 50 meters past the winning post. The next 6 races are all a mile or less so they won't go over that part of the tack until the race is finished and the horses are being pulled up. Will that make much of a difference?

I was surprised to hear Wilcox at Ellerslie say they were cutting their track to raceday length of 120mm. The old rule I heard was "no longer than a cigarette".
