Look, I've backed a couple of early winners. I'm not used to the feeling of looking early, yet alone collecting early. So look, you need to go easy on me. I'm looking to stop looking.

Your just looking desperate to me , by the looks of it anyway .

It does make you wonder whether they just do as they please. It's not hard to have a quiet word with Leith. I was watching Sweeney and Innes doing a preview on the track yesterday, and seriously Sweeney would ask Leith a question and when Leith was responding Sweeney's head was turning between looking at Leith for 2 seconds and spinning towards the camera for 2 seconds about 10 times every 20 or 30 seconds. I've never ever seen anything like that from any presentation. It looked so ridiculous, and he had that goofy look on his face as well. Again they must have Directors or bosses that see this ?? .. if it was me I would have said to Sweeney WTF was that about ?

I know exactly what you mean.    Listening to an interview with Lisa Latta, who I admire greatly, is a look fest.    I think it's just a sign of the times, where people used to say ummm.. or well, or Yeah, but no  ....    we probably just have to live through it :)

I think it's about trying to include the audience as if they are part of the conversation, not that they can respond or comment, but it's about inclusiveness.. I agree it adds nothing, they do it on the rugby too, or should I say, the women do, because I think they have been more recently trained, but it's annoying.       I prefer they just talk, chat amongst themselves casually as they should as all people that love racing or sports, and we see it as viewers, which we are :)

Another sign of the times is the proliferation  of people starting sentences with so...

Yep get that, but it was so ridiculous .. he looked like one of those clowns that turn their heads at the fair and you try to put a ping pong ball in their mouth. Except he was twenty times faster and looked more goofy than they do. Surely whoever directs would just say slow it down, otherwise you will put your bloody neck out. It's all about presentation, for example you wouldn't see Jayne looking like a dipstick.

Remembered from a McPhail and Gadsby show (if I remember correctly), one clown says to the other “the worst thing about this job is I’ve never seen your face”.

“Look” or any other regularly repeated word probably shows the interviewee is not totally at ease in the situation, but I think there are worse things to be frustrated by.
