The big day has arrived - good luck to all grand finalists!

Posting deadline this week is 1.00pm.   If your partner hasn't posted by 1.00pm you can post picks for them (prior to 1.30pm)

hope you find the 'fast lane ' boys. to kick home a winner or 2.

Is there are first and second Prize up for grabs in this event Grand Final John?

No 2nd place prizes winners in each section Championship,Plate and Bowl will all get a $50.00 each way bet on a single horse, to be split between the two members, as is the norm here.

Yikes ! in that case will have to hope O'man and Kilcoyne are happy with 2nd place this week  , while I defend the Pairs Title.  Thanks to kind sponsorship from Idolmite in the last Pairs Comp last November , champ-man Memphis and I were able to sponsor to lots of harness racing comps here in turn, for Cup week and Derby Day. 

Fingers crossed that Pondy and I can match that feat and Steel a winning score this Saturday.

Its thanks to my investment in the site that you have the opportunity to enter these comps not just the so called sponsorship of this comp...I invest thousands of $$$ in the RC site....We dont care what division it is...a win is a win...and its not div 3 its the bowl...and its still a ton of fun...cheers.

you missed the Golden chance to reciprocate and wish us best of luck for the Championship Final there Scooby . while worrying about your money. never mind mate. Up in Division one at the Ponderosa we're getting the tips Togeather ready for the O'man/ Kilcoyne onslaught . here we go back to the study having fun lol

No I missed nothing and I am not your mate dont have a clue who you are...Just don't like big noters...each to their own...I am sure Pondy will do well he is a good guy and wish him well in the Championship final.

Thanks Blaird...as I said if we can eek out a win it will be fun...we will be as happy as any of the other winners our opposition are tough to beat....hope you will be in the new comp in a week or so it will be a ton of fun.

some BIG events to enjoy today with the mighty Brisbane Lions taking care of Business and sending the Carlton Blues out of town and out of the AFL Finals tonight. (all going well ) 

We have the TAB Eureka here tonight. the richest harness run race in the world at $2,000,000. with 3 Strong Queensland chances . ( A very good Queenslander is about to win the NZ Cup over there soon named Leap To Fame with my good mate Grant Dixon) 

And another 'Say No More' Pairs Championship Final this afternoon to enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon of exciting horse racing . this thread getting the completion rocking lol. I was wondering what the bossman was on about with not liking Big Noters  . so after figuring out I had said to Pondy at the beginning of the comp that " we would be favourites to win the thing" , the penny dropped.  just a bit of joking around that meant Nothing.  had drama the last Pairs Comp too for some reason. 

It is a competition though , and having drove in 100 's of races at one stage,  you always do your best to perform well and try and win , whether they're you're mates or not lol ) mate a term used in many contexts and very common  You don't exactly Hit the Track 'wishing your rivals good luck either'  . it's just a personal choice . so I do apologize for trying to fish that out of Scooby. not a very bright move and got the expected result I spose. .  trying to spice up the final Comp thread lol  but at least he wished Pondy well.  as do I . good to have a 'good' chap as partner for the notorious Big Bad Steelo.    

A fun trivia to brighten up the Final then . One of the finalists today raced the same horse in NZ  (think got 4th in the Nz Derby in his year) as I raced years later in Australia. a nice co-incidence !  I loved that horse. 

Best of Britiissh   to O'man and Kilcoyne. today . a smashing season and worthy Champions elect. 

see ya soon with some picks John. only 6am on another glorious 26 degree Brissy morning so will check scratchings over breakfast shortly.  just gunna feed my Kookaburra mates and Maggie mates now.

The irony is if you call the Mrs  >  Mate,  a lot of them don't like it from their partners. and you likely could get a smack in the chops. "I'm not one of your mates" they will say 

even though they are technically, really = your mate,   they are quite fine for you to call the dog , the neighbour , anyone at all 'mate' as you go along though your day. 

 

here's a quick crack up  for you too. A Couple move in to new house and are meeting the neighbours for the first time. "we've been Happily married for 5 years" the bloke announces first up. His wife cuts in and says "But we've been married for 20 ?"   He replies " Yeah . sure, but only 5 of them have been happy "  (then Gets that smack in the chops after all )
