I think they increased the camber, but I will find out exactly what was done.

I'm wondering whether they increased the camber on the inside but then flattened it out - or even created a negative camber - from a certain point, which means wide runners effectively spill over the top.

I've seen them do that on Sprintcar tracks, where they should be cambered from the inside line [pole line] to the wall, increasing the camber as they go, but for some reason they've levelled it of half way across meaning only the inside half of the track is race-able [the outside lane being slower than the inside lane AS WELL AS being the longer way around]. Now gallopers don't race as wide as Sprintcars, but there still definitely shouldn't be a levelling off of the camber anywhere near where horses are racing, running at full pace heading into the straight.

I'll be interested in what exactly they have done.

Agreed.  There is a camber but it is difficult for it to continue into the straight due to the 2400m chute.  The final part of the bend diesnr look too much different to the old one.  Of course there was some work done to camber where the Steepelchase course met the course proper.

Ah, the 2400 metre shute. You may have hit the nail on the head.
