Zakhu 573 Report post Posted September 2 Bit late but I have put together a brief comment around most runners out of the Foxbridge that are looking to line up in the Tarzino on Saturday. Skew Wiff - Presented to win and just peaked on its run late in the race on a tough track, resuming, better for the run and better at 1400m on firmer ground. Soft 5 ideal. Mali Ston - Settled back early, came wide on the bend and made up slashing ground out wide. Fastest last 8,6,4,200m splits of the race. Continued to rip on past the line. Yes to more and firmer ground. Needs a decent tempo in the race though. Master Fay - The biggest forgive out of the Foxbridge for mine, came into the race second up off the back of a hard run resuming. 4 wide on speed, tempo was strong and died late. Better ground is a massive plus. Needs to settle a little better. Better ground is what he is craving for. Puntura - Got back first up over a suitable distance resuming and made up strong ground in the straight. Was tightened up a bit early in the run home as well. Big improver up to 1400m and better ground does not hinder. Tactically versatile who can race on speed. Sacred Satono - Jumped well from a bad barrier and suffered on a 3 & 4 wide run fresh up. Not in love with the conditions but did enough for a horse that has pushed Legarto and Wild Night at 1400m. Tidy second up record who can use a good barrier. Waitak - As expected, motored home late after the race was set up for him. The presence of a drier track is a negative for him. Needs a strong tempo and 1400m on good ground is a worry. Might just be an electric 1100-1200m sprinter who needs a bit of juice out of the track nowadays. Sharp ‘N’ Smart - For a horse that finished 12th it was a useful effort for a horse that first up off just 1 trial. Was strong very late and continued on past the line. Better suited increasing its distance to 1400m and a better track is a huge positive. Has always gone well with a run on the board. Mustang Valley - She is the best horse in the country on Heavy tracks, but the presence of a firmer track is a huge negative and is just not the same horse at G1 level on Good/Slow tracks. Made up good ground on the wrong part of the track when resuming. Great past the line. Bonny Lass - Settled forward on top of a strong tempo when resuming on a track she wouldn’t have loved, she had challenges in the straight but held them all out. Holding a margin on the line when vulnerable to the race shape. 1400m and good ground is a huge positive. Returned better than ever. Romancing The Moon - Willing to forgive her somewhat on her resuming run. Didn't settle well enough on top of a strong tempo in running. Hated the heavy track. Will love the presence of a firmer track and 1400m with a run on the board might be a big improver into the TARZINO.
