The Chairless big Saturday

Are Entain trying to save money by not giving the presenters chairs and a table. Watching presenters standing and waving their arms with a bundle of papers is so irritating.

Surely could have pushed The Whales chair over from the Friday Night Lights studio

It is a laughable attempt to track Aussie, they have no show, cringe material

like the trots  Friday under lights a copy of Moonee Valley, give me a break it is a disaster … but they had a go just failed but we will have it for years as they don’t listen

Been a while since they had the trots at The Valley  Tom. I used to go to the trots when they were at the Showgrounds. Great days.

I think the concept is good & actually like Friday Night Lights. I don't understand why they don't have chairs, it seems cruel to stand for hours. What actually annoy me is when Australian racing is on, Pip gives the selections from the presenters on track, then Emily talks about the kiwibreds. By the time they get to the track, the horses are usually going into the gates. Why not cross & get the presenters last minute thoughts, also very rarely we get the post race interviews. I know domestic racing takes priority, but it shouldn't be at the expense of Australian racing.

I am enjoying Friday Night Lights, it's not perfect but I find it entertaining. They are interviewing a lot of different trainers and drivers and providing profiles on some of the lesser-known one's which I think is great.

This show is so irritating already...they really dont have a clue how to do things IMHO.

Everything about Entain is irritating. Cringeworthy adverts which make race punting look like roulette wheel exercise. AI form comments, inaccurate form comments, presentation rubbish in general with a few exceptions, presenters with ridiculous false smiles telling the people how lucky we are to have Big Saturday action haha .. or Friday Night lights an even bigger embarassment exception Greg.

They must think the population of punters are as stupid as them. But they forgot one thing, we the punter are far more clued up about racing in NZ than they are, it's obvious they have employed non racing staff grrrrr.

They're on a hiding to nothing aren't they...

I can't understand the animosity towards Friday Night Lights.  It wasn't that long ago, Friday night would consist of Nicole Sims sitting behind a desk in a studio, and at best we would get a 2 minute conversation between Nicole and Aaron White before an Alex Park race.  At least we now have the likes of Nicole on the ground interviewing industry participants between races, and a dedicated team of two in studio plus the commentator doing some decent lead up pre-race analysis.

Is the broadcast perfect?  No.  Is it an improvement on a solo presenter in the studio and getting footage of Capabala greyhounds to fill time?  Yes.

More interviews with a range of participants is what is needed. What they can stop doing is saying what a great job theyre doing and how every weekend is bigger and better than the last. That is cringe.

Bring in Peter Earley for an improved product.

And where is Jane Ivil??!!?? Let me guess theyre waiting for the HB Carnival to introduce her.

She was at New Plymouth yesterday with Bevan and will continue to do the CD meetings with him in the future. She is a star. Love the way she hosts (much better than any of ours) and they way she goes through them runner by runner for analysis.

Totally agree about Jayne.

She always had something but the time in Oz really brought the professionalism to the fore.

Sad she's saddled with numbnuts.

BTW has anyone sighted the Greater Brown Popplewell?

Believe he has taken an extended holiday through Europe. You'd think he'd be back for Foxbridge day this Saturday.

I agree Friday Night Lights is very informative with the Whale and Greg not sure who the other dude is . They do their best putting punters on the right track , interview drivers , trainers so I can't complain

I happened to drop in on Friday Night Lights when I was scrolling around looking for "Love Island" and have to say the section I saw looked pretty good. As for the Big Saturday--is it referring to Big Fashion? Emily standing there in a ball gown and Pip in her sequinned top looking ready to hit the catwalk. Cringeworthy to me. It is a visual medium so surely some smart "racing" uniform more in order. Caps, silks, jodhpurs and boots? (leave the whips at home) And no Sweeney cheese cutters permitted!

Each to their own,I'm not a fan.Imo best thing on media for Harness racing is Nigel Armstrongs Unhinged facebook page.Human aspect of racing is what will get more people interested

Please show me any correlation between post race interviews with battlers and increasing turnover to help the industry survive?

Nigel just a great job but that show does not put bread on the table.

she was on tv on Saturday. If you're going to bag it out, at least watch it first.
