Hambletonan Day tomorrow.

Recommended Posts

Above is the live feed. It's 9:15 am here in Las Vegas so 12:15 there in New Jersey

Scattered thunderstorms are due there all day, which is not the greatest.

The Hambletonian should be great. If Karl is back to his best, he will be very hard to beat and won in a jog in his Elim. TCI as a 2yo was the richest earner ever with over 1.2 million last year and Karl left him in the dust in the Breeders Crown.

Then you have The Canadian horse, Highland Kismet who could be a serious threat. He has been a little weird at the start behind the gate. He doesn't trot rough but hangs off the gate. They are supposed to have that fixed.  He and Sig Sauer are two very big dangers. Sig Sauer went off at 68 to 1 against Karl and flew home to win 2 weeks ago in a $135,000 race.  Noel Daley trains him (ex-Aussie and a damned good trainer)

If the weather is somehow dry, they may well go 1:49 which would be a WR for a 3yo trotter.

Tactical Landing gets his second winner of the Hamiltonian from his first two crops! Amazing. I wonder if it’s been done before?

Not sure, I will check it out.

Tactical Landing was a can't miss. His full sister (Mission Brief)  trotted 1:50 3/5ths as a 2yo. Nothing has come close and she did it like 10 years ago.

She was built like a thoroughbred and her brother built like a tank. They are tough as their mother was by Varenne. You can't beat that European blood

Here's The Hambletonian, which has different views and shows Yannick Gingras's emotions as he wins. It took him 9007 wins to win this race for the 1st time.

Karl all going well will smash the WR when he goes to Kentucky in October as long as the weather is not effed up like it was in this race. What a great run from Highland Kismet who I think had less than 10 lifetime starts and did not race at two as he was a handful and refused to trot and do what they asked him to do. He's a Father Patrick so I can see why he was difficult. Most of them get gelded because they are wound up like an alarm clock.

He's going to get better and better.
