2Piper 414 Report post Posted July 26 The powers that be have scrapped the NZ Bred bonus and increased the Fillies and Mares bonus. However it goes to the horse that is still racing that may become future broodmares and not the broodmare owners at present ? How does this attract the breeding now? This way they are holding the money back for when the race mares retire. Mind you the interest they recieve may be the motive. Your thoughts ? I bred a Nz Bred sired 2yo filly that's in training but unlikely to get the 2yo bonus. As of next year with the NZ Bred bonus gone I will not get a 10% cut . The powers that be have chopped and changed the breeding incentives and that is more than likely the reason the small breeders are not breeding. I have been offered broodmares by the dozen but It has to be viable (cash flow).
