Dunn family at Addington

Recommended Posts

How amazing at Addington that Robert and Jenna trained 7 winners on the 10 race card, and John Dunn drove 7 winners, 6 for Robert and Jenna and 1 for Bob Butt. Must be a record of some sort. Amazing achievement, well done to all.

Loved the $6 on offer a few months ago "leading trainers" - go Diamond Racing

I wondered who got on at that, over the last couple of months I've been getting on but after another go at 1.85 last night they are onto it now 1.55

Yeah also got them at $4.5, $4.2, $4 and yes $1.85 was worth another go last night.

Incidentally my initial bet was Telfers @ $2.50 when first opened will break even if they win but win huge if Dunns win

Even the royal unhinged one put a lazy k on Telfer's early on couldn't see them beaten with numbers but clearly numbers ain't winners maybe next year , but over the last two months I've snuck about 5 1/2 on diamond well and truly on the right side of this bet ,fingers crossed.

Is anyone really surprised at the Dunn's success in terms of wins. Just look at how many starters they  line up in a season  and how  much they have spent at yearling sales in last 5 years or so compared to other stables. That includes Mark and Barry  who have  concentrated on quality not quantity.

This is not decrying Dunn's success just pointing out  IMO why they are leading trainers in terms of wins

I haven't really looked at that but how about you put up the figures for us jj would make for interesting reading but don't forget the home breds that don't go thru sales, hard to put a price on them .You also say it's a numbers game again be interesting to see how many go through Stables not just the one's that race.

Unhinged ......how the hell did you get 5.5k on the Dunn's at any price???

A few years ago I tried to have 2k on Jamie Richards at $2.50 and was offered $25 only hahahaha ....I told them to jam it where the sun doesn't shine!

All you need to do is look at NZB sales results and Premiership data on HRNZ to see Starting numbers UDR wins  etc.  to answer part of your questions

Not sure anyone but the trainers could answer how many home breds  each stable trained  or how many were sacked or injured and never raced.

Either way congrats to them and their staff on another successful season , its a numbers game and they obviously have the numbers. TB's have the same scenario. Te Akau  1st  daylight 2nd

Great going unhinged.  Think the secret to success is a stake ending in 888,88,8. Must try that although my bets will be 88cents😀

Unfortunately we've got another 6 months so not counting any chickens yet

Can always cover yourself especially once Telfers go out to $5 - they are out to $3 plus now. But really for the numbers they have in work their results are awful. Their wages bill alone wouldn't even be paid by the total stakes won let alone any other costs

Its a strange scenario with the Telfers .....they have state of the art facilities so the horses obviously get looked after like royalty .....BUT that doesn't necessarily translate into WINNERS which is whats happening with their strike rate.

I hope they can improve as we need them to bolster numbers (especially in the north) but as you say ......the results are not good enough and the Dunn's are obviously 'good things' for the title.

TAB ....pay the boys now! ......great tickets Unhinged .....GROUSE.😀.

By Mike Love

Yaldhurst trainer Regan Todd learned of Marketplace's victory in yesterday’s Group 2 Rakaia Seed Cleaning Sapling Stakes at Ashburton initially via text message.

Blah blah blah

Meanwhile Robert and Jenna Dunn produced another outstanding training effort winning the Group 2 Helen Pope Fillies Classic with Downbytheseaside filly Gone Surfin. The Dunns also trained the trifecta in the $30,000 Rural Business Accountants Champion Stakes with Harrison John, Miki’s Courage and Hadron Collider.

They are now 11 wins clear at the top of the trainers' premiership on 87, ahead of Steve and Amanda Telfer, while John Dunn has a three win lead in the drivers' premiership, with Blair Orange second on 79.

Gave me a fright - my reckoning is 23 - come on Mike not a good look

Yeah you are right Spike ....11 is gettable but I doubt 23 is.

TAB should pay you guys out NOW......that way you might even re-invest some of it 😂 ...and give the Bookies a chance.

Good punting anyway ....you deserve all the proceeds.
