STEVEO'S Selections for 11/05/2024

ROTORUA

Race 1: FASHION ICON showed strong effort on a heavy track at WANG over 1200m. Now, stepping back to 1400m on a soft track boosts the chances for Odds and GERIATIX. Although is dropping down a level, lacks significant soft track experience but has won twice over 1400m. Fashion Icon is the top pick.

Race 2: MAPALICIOUS struggled on a heavy track last time but performed well on soft ground over the same track and distance. JOSHUA BROWN is worth noting, having impressed in their first race back on April 17th. DETAIN caught attention with an impressive trial win over 800m in 44.56 seconds, defeating some strong competitors.

Race 3: KOHEROA stands out as a strong contender after dropping down in grade. TEAR FOR VICTORY and WAY TO COOL prefer soft conditions and the 1400m distance, making them potential contenders for a place, albeit at longer odd

Race 4: CASINO PRINCESS, starting from the advantageous inside draw, appears to be the best bet today and is difficult to beat. ZANTABULOUS, also benefiting from a good draw, favors both the soft track and the race distance. Expect ZANTABULOUS to be sharper after the last run over 1400m. FLY MY WEY might need this run and more distance but has talent and could spring a surprise being second-up.

Race 5: DARK DESTROYER performs better on a heavy track, but this race is easier compared to recent ones. VAL DI ZORA has attracted early betting attention after facing misfortune in the last two races.

Race 6: ROC DANCER seems well positioned starting from gate 4 and benefits from returning to a soft track. BRIDGETON is a top pick, having placed in two out of three races on this course, plus their stable is in excellent form. PONADAVE has a good draw and is sharper after a trial win over the fences, likely to make a late charge.

Race 7: IMUNSTOPPABLE is the rising star in this class, showing great potential and is expected to perform well here. LA CRIQUE is the class act and is likely to be the favorite, making them the one to beat. MARY SHAN, returning to 1400m, only needs some luck to be in contention.

Race 8: STRANGE LOVE performs best over 1600m but is now fitter after three runs. With a good draw, they're a good choice for odds. MOON MONEY is highly regarded by the trainer and is starting to find form. SLIPPER ISLAND, despite a wide draw, is the strongest contender in this lineup and is one to watch close

NEW PLYMOUTH.

Race 1: BOY, with blinkers on and money backing, is the main contender and likely the one to beat. CHARM ZAFARM showed decent form before the last spell and was close to a strong competitor in Loch in Ora when finishing third in the last race. EILUD, a Pike runner, appears promising and is a contender not to be overlooked.

Race 2: PLEASING impressed as a superb trial winner just 10 days ago and will be tough to beat. KAPALUA showed promise with a good performance when finishing third in a recent trial and is worth watching closely. CONNELLO brings race experience and form to the table and should be among the contenders

Race 3: KAKADU boasts a strong record when fresh and is even fitter after a recent 1000m trial win in 1.08.9. LIQUID LES also has a good record fresh and an impeccable track record, making them a potential surprise package. HOT SHOCKOLATE, despite some recent bad luck, warrants attention, especially watching the tote for any shifts in betting patterns.

Race 4: SUMI carries a 4kg weight advantage over the top weight, making them the main contender and likely to be tough to beat. JUSTASKME, a winner of 5 races on this track, is now fitter and could potentially spring a surprise.

Race 5: TINA DIAMOND moves into a slightly easier 65 class in this line up, and her previous maiden win was impressive. GHAZZAH may need this run but could place and should be fitter after an unplaced trial at Auckland. FREIHEITEN PFIEL has shown solid form in the last two races and is the one to beat here

Race 6: BRIDAL TRAIN has been consistently performing and is due for a win, which might come today. O'CERIANS DREAM, trained by Patterson, always races well and should make a strong finish. DOROTHY'S DAUGTHER is likely to challenge the favorite closely, especially with the 1800m distance and soft track in her favor, offering good odds

Race 7: LOVE NESST struggled on the heavy track last time but should perform better on a better track. POSER drops in class and would prefer a slightly longer distance but can still run well fresh over 1800m. WHITE NOISE is attracting money today and shouldn't be overlooked

Race 8: TAVI ANN faced difficulty on a heavy track last time, but a better track should suit her. She's the one to beat. BELLADONNA LILLY showed promise with a good second-place finish in strong company at Woodville and stepping up to 1600m could be beneficial. NANCY SHE WROTE has been talked about a lot recently and has a good chance to win here

Good Luck, Steveo.

Fashion Icon is the top pick.

Let's hope so Steveo, paying great money at $7.50. Will be a great start to the day if she can get up.
