Actually Greg, I was informed yesterday afternoon from the Riu that the kibble had returned positive to morphine and that they where scratching my dogs from today.
I don't see why our dogs should be scratched when we are not the only ones that feed this kibble. The positives date back over 2 months now, all the trainers involved with the positives have been swabbed since with no more positive results. I can not see the justification in penalising us again. I have been using the product for at least a couple of years. I feel your inference of some other contamination in light of this result is quite unjustified. The kibble has been brought over different periods of time through two seperate retailers. Have you thought that maybe the manafacturers may have received a contaminated product ie wheat that inadvertently may have wild poppy seeds, maybe it is just the one batch, which would seem the most likely. If  every dog that has raced recently was swabbed maybe some other kennels may have been in this boat also. As I said not all of my swabs have been positive so may be some dogs have different excretion times than others. I thought this was the best result having the biscuits proven to contain morphine. At least I could save mine, Tracy's, Alysha and Arch's reputation as being honest as it is all you have in this game sometimes. Its obvious though that this is going to be just as stressfull and ongoing for a while yet. At this stage we may not even be allowed to race this week either. At least I can now see who my real friends are.

No you MUST post under your real name and be prepared to stand behind what you say... simple then it is your head in the noose not my site. Get video get pix, that is why people BELIEVE what has happened in Australia... evidence... Your industry seems to me to very incestuous and a lot of people involved love to talk badly and point the finger at others involved in it. I aint gonna allow this to become a desperate housewives type forum... facts or nothing.. stand up and say it and be prepared for the consequences or don't cast doubt over the whole industry where there no doubt tons of good honest people involved who do not need to be tarred with the same brush as the small low quality mongrels who do this type of vial thing.

I would normally agree with you ashoka when it comes to this club, but i feel that they have done the right thing in this situation, noms for the race closed before the new rule change as punkrock had already said.

Would we be here arguing over this if they had run 2 heats? Probably not

I made that comment ashoka as i fealt that it was unnecessary to say that punkrocks opinion was bias and that made him ignorant as i do believe that he clearly described how this situation came about and also why the wanganui club made the right decision in this instance

Ashley. You don't have to answer to anyone other than owners when they're disappointed with one of your dog's performances.

Your dog's always give their best and usually only racing luck beats them.

You have a great team at the moment and are doing a top job with them.

All the best for the remainder of the season.

I train and own rotovegas sparkey.Few more facts 4 u all to sink ya teeth into.sparkey is a great box dog walks in and waits at the front of the box.Box speed yes not as good now ever since the boxes failed to open one race meeting in Cambridge. Also the lure breaking down on her 100 meters or so in another race in Cambridge. So really the box not being right down what's the big deal. The handler is not to blame here either he has boxed a lot of dogs 10 time s harder than sparkey with no issues. The fact of the matter is who really lost out here?If sparky didn't place she would have downgraded. The starter dose a great job no ones perfect give the man a break. Next time make sure you take your can of CRC aye and spay them boxes lol. How them warriors going to do this year everyone?

I've found final field place the way to make money.

I'm not a successful punter. As when I'm out with mates I always have to bet on every race.
But when the push come to shove and I was down to my last 50. I would always look two races ahead. Do some quick study and find the horse paying more for a place Than I reckon it should.

Place punting is the safest way.

You don't get rich quick but you've got 3 chances to make some dough.

Like some races I see a horse paying $7.50 a win and 2.80 a place final field.

If I think it could win I'd jump on the final field place because if I have missed something with the other horses it covers my ass when they always get pipped on the post
