  1. No friendships anymore yet you comment "classic case of who you know, not what " So what are you wanting out of all this? He has stepped up to the plate and we have to wait and see before we can judge. Or we throw rocks first so he doesn't get a chance? Another quote from You "seems to be the way the industry is going" Hmmm. Regards Corey Steele
  2. And What do you know about him ? Or just the fact hes been with us for a long time means that he wasnt the right person for the job. No matter who got the job people would judge saying exactly the same as you Henny. But he is taking on a big role in our current position and I wish him all the best . Let us hope we will continue to try and move forward and have a positive outlook for the future of our sport.
  3. So we have 3 major scouters in the same race. Draw 6,7 and 8. 2 hard failed a drawn 1 and 2 Who' to say that the 6 dog isn' the worst of the scouters but runs wide straight off the traps and connects with 7 and 8 Who run off turning for home? It' an idea that has it' merits but also has it' downfall. I'm not a fan of this theory. Will it work per dog per track as some dogs run wide first bend Auckland but not Cambridge. Hard railers that run off at wanganui first look? A railer that will hang off under pressure? Plenty of variables..

Yet again someone bringing negative unwanted comments to a positive thread. Why would young trainers want to come through the sport when they are scrutinised by people they don't even know.

  10. Can't do that Jake St Ledger heats are next week and the breeders coming up soon as Well. Be interesting to see what happens
  11. Yet another post hijacked by people with childish comments towards each other. Can we get back to the topics started in this thread and the others.
  12. Gee Gary. That's a lot of variables for the making of a group 1 dog. The group dogs are the ones that overcome adversity.

  14. What your looking at Craig is the North and South as being categorized by island. It's divided by region being north central and south. If you look at it that way then it evens out a wee bit more.
  15. One look at Manakau and that's all he needed. 4.45 first section today which is flying. One track specialist.. nope . Think he just needs a look to work things out. Well Done to Floyd, Calum, May and the connections of the best sprinter in the country. Great result
  16. I believed it worked well at Wanganui MM, and I enjoyed the 'birds eye view' coverage. Literally onwards and 'UPwards' for the industry. Lol
  17. I don't believe there is a rule against it. I see no problem with it, and have done it myself when employed by a trainer, handled for someone else when I have a runner engaged, because someone else has that connection. Id say he is asking the question Twirly because in the harness I don't believe a driver can drive another horse if he has ownership or trains another runner in the race.

    Unbeknown

Gees Jim Bob, running around for chicken feed huh. If it wasn't for us greyhound code your horse codes (both of them) would be running around for litres of diesel to get home from the races.
  19. The racing board are the ones who changed Auckland to the noon starts for the next 12 weeks I think it is. It is unfortunate that it comes during the Auckland Cup Carnival, but what choice does the club have. If you had been so concerned why didn't you have a look at the agrc website to see if there were any update. The following taken from their website. " NZRB Trials 12 Noon Starts The Board has agreed to a three month trial of 12 noon start time for our Sunday race meetings commencing 1 February 2017. The trial is part of the NZRB Project to optimise the racing calendar. They predicted that an earlier start will provide an opportunity to import a further 12 Australian races and generate a further $9.4 million per annum ($200k per week) that will benefit the stakeholders for all codes. The Board have an assurance from the NZRB that our condensed time (3½ hours for ten races) will be maintained. Also GRNZ will guarantee our oncourse commissions for the duration of the trial to protect cash position.
  20. And who pays for the transportation costs Warren. 50/50 animal. 2x interislander trips Away for 2 days at a minimum so have to employ someone to keep the kennels operating. I'd say a $2500 series Wins and he covers costs and a little in bank. Runs 2nd a nose and trainer losing money. 2x addington wins $1440 to winner. Sounds a bit less risky to me. If owners willing to pay for transport cost sure. Give it a go.remember 50/50 is a training agreement. You want the dog travelled when not financially viable. Step up and pay the way Thats my thoughts anyway
  21. 2 lovely kennel dogs needing time and change of scene HOMEBUSH EVIE HOMEBUSH GISELE Best Offers CONTACT 027 847 2364
  22. Sack beds for sale. Great as kennel beds for at the races. $15 each Contact Corey for orders or queries 0211747593 greatgreyhoundz@gmail.com
  23. And who does that benefit??? The smaller trainers. They wont have to worry about a cap. What about the bigger kennels. Less vouchers means no guarantee of covering costs. Which means cash will be spent on fuel and vehicle maintenance. Means less money to pay employees alike myself We are wanting to go forward in this industry and we keep taking a backwards step. Who would want a career in greyhound racing when no one can afford to employ you? How are youth meant to buy a property to start a career in the times the country is in today where house prices are through the roof.? Where is this saving getting put into? One more group race. Of which only one dog can succeed and one trainer ajd owner combination benefiting? I think we need to start increasing opportunities to make a living in this sport before its too late to start.
  24. Bright star paying double figures around Manakau!!! Well Done to Bob and Audrey Im sure the puppies wouldve been cheering their mum on at home.
