  1. Why does it matter how many pet dogs they have??? I know many trainers that have NO pet Greyhounds.
  2. But have the welfare committee done this?? No. Because they understand where he is coming from.
  3. Impression.. Everything can be misinterpreted. But that isn't how it came across nor intended to come across. If Greg Kerr thought that JMac said what you inter perpetrated from his comments. Then I'm sure Greg would have spoken up and said how wrong that is and the welfare be on their tail instantly.
  4. But every dog has its day. But no hope of winning?? Does that matter. These persistent trainers are giving their owner the best chance they can by keepin dogs fit for another chance next week
  5. What you have said Mrs Clarke has been taken out of context. Farm like. Because pups are reared in the paddock. Alike a sheep farmer. Right to shoot a dog.. If a Greyhound is injured at home, which can happen. It should be our right to shoot it to put it out of its misery when traveling to a vet to put out down is 45 + minute of pain for the Greyhound. So before you come on here and make it look like JMac is cruel and doesn't give a rats about his dogs .. Get you context correct. Petrol vouchers.. here we go again. It's in the owners interest that Petrol vouchers are around. To cut cost to the owner. Trainers wouldn't send injured dogs around for $40 worth of Pietro vouchers when it could take weeks to heal the injury. Capping voucher.. Why. They are for the owner When a trainer doesn't charge travel in exchange for any unplaced vouchers then how do you decide which owner misses out and gets charged. Come on guys. Trainers don't want vouchers. They want stake money. But vouchers allow trainers and owners to get the dog to the track to try and earn a share of the pie
  6. Out of form or injured barker? What do you suggest trainers do with their out of form dogs? Some dogs need maturity. Some need time for trainers to work out what works best with each individual dog. Out of form is completely different to the welfare of the animal
  7. Why the quotation marks?
  8. I think that craiks took the 28 day stand down for scratching with out certificate dueto fitness concerns more than injury. A vet can't say whether a dog is fit or not. I am not sure about the situation with craiks dog but think it was more precaution than anything.
  9. The under card looks good as well Reilly. Feature races advertised C1-C4 527m. C2 779m consolations as well. Better save some pennies to have a little nudge throughout the night.
  10. Raw Energy was presented to a vet within 24 hours of race time (Give or take) and was cleared of injury. - As said in a previous post, I don't believe it was intentional. I know of a couple of times, a couple of years back where people left without a vet check being completed, they didn't present to a vet later, and didn't make the stipes report. They weren't odds on favourite, but does that matter?? Nothing to do with his original comment Mike? - ReillyM said, surprise surprise, he pulled up sore. Does this not imply he believed Raw Energy was always sore? Implying that they sent him around already injured?
  11. This is a great example of trainer welfare for the animal. The trainer didn't believe that he could have Harvey Nichols fit for racing in time for the race. Good on the Craik team for doing this. When a stand down is given, it is how long the greyhound shouldn't be racing for due to the injury. But the fitness lost when the dog is spelling is also important to take into account when lining a dog up again. I don't see a problem here. In the case of Raw Energy. The dog was cleared of injury when presented to the vet, and comes out and gets injured during the race. Do you really think that someone would send a dog to the calibre of Raw Energy around the track if he is injured. I believe not. If you do, then you obviously think that trainers have no concern about the welfare of the animal, where in fact, it is the most important part of being a greyhound trainer. If you take no regard to welfare, then you wont have a dog to race in the future. All you are doing ReillyM is questioning the morals and welfare concerns of the greyhound trainers in this industry. Not double standards/rules for some. I am unsure on your position in this industry ReillyM, but if you are an owner, would you be happy for your trainer to send around a dog injured? I don't believe so, and the trainer probably wouldn't do it anyway. So why do you think that this is what the McInerney camp is doing. That is basically what you're saying. If you are coming from a punters perspective, that is why we have a vet on course, and get vet checked before they are kennelled. 1. For the welfare of the animal. 2. So that way, a dog can be scratched if an injury has arisen, and the punters are informed as soon as possible.
  12. Next big thing.. Bernie was very patient and has done an amazing job. Well done Bernie. This dog will go places. I do hope he gets beaten a couple of times before he reaches C5. Dogs that go straight through the grades usually struggle when they get C5. Magic bolt. Dog to follow in the near future!
  13. Yes. It does look dodgy from a punters perspective. But I don't think it is.
  14. It's happened with other trainers as well where they have left without doing vet checks. Sometimes it's accidental, forgetting about it and sometimes it's not. Unsure about this case. Merv, you obviously have something against then personally as I only ever read negativity from you towards them. I think the dog should have been presented to another vet within 48hrs of race time and contact should have been made to the kennels to specify this otherwise they would impose a 28 day stand down. I don't know what will happen from here but I guess we can only wait and see.
  15. I think ritza jack @$31.00 is value. He was a extremely good before his injury and if he has come back even only 90% he will be a top contender
  16. Four iron dogs won on this night. The two mentioned above and buddy broke and rose more osti
  17. Today roso said futures were out for overall winner of the Auckland cup and railway.. I can't seem to find it on the tab website. I can never find it for any of the major races. Can someone direct me on where to go on the website.
  18. Whether it is facts out speculation. His name will forever be slandered by the case against him. The fact that he was fined $10k + 7-10 year suspension is enough for me to stay clear and advise others to also. As said previously, anyone associated with him well be frowned upon by many and to me that is enough to warn others. This racing industry is always looking at others and judging. This is why some people struggle in this game. Being a trainer, owner, punter or other types of licensed person. Being associated with him will bring nothing but judgment. I for one won't be judging, but also won't be going near.
  19. Gives me shivers up my spine to think he is coming back into the game. Handing out licenses in weet-bix packets again are they? Why should he even be considered when nzgra banned him for 10 years (7 according to houndfan). 10 years is too long of a sentence in my opinion to make you even eligible for consideration.
  20. Sincerest condolences to the whole Fahey clan.
  21. Well deserved.very lovely lady and her partner just as nice. Purple power today aye deb. Keep up the hard work
  22. Need to put my glasses on properly. Haha.
  23. Photo finishes are trimmed.. As in gaps shortened so it fits on screen and a4 print out. Margins are correct on site.. But photo looks closer
  24. Lyn bleik works as a kennel steward at Auckland and she has her trainers license so I think you should be ok.
