I see Vespa had a good win on Saturday. Anyone know where he has ended up? I recall he went from Valachi to Mapperly but not advertised as still standing.

I see a bit of moonlighting is going on at NZTR head office with the return of RTS to the Warriors apparently negotiated by CEO Bruce Sharrock. Presumably he had to get permission to continue with his pre-NZTR activities, but no problem, just ask the other part timer CEO in Aussie. I wonder how many other rugby and league players are still being managed by Mr Sharrock. Surely the NZTR CEO position needs his fulltime attention.

We went to Puke on Avondale Cup day to watch our horse race. Started off in bottom Fulton lounge where where we were served by a disinterested bar maid and paid over the top for our Speights, which may possibly have been excused, but the beer was warm. We tried once more but with the same result, so we decided to move up to the Level 4 Fulton. Again a disinterested bar maid who gave the impression that she did not want to be there. Easy to decide what beer to buy as there was only one on offer, cans of a brand none of us had heard of. So a round of cans was purchased when we found we were being charged $10/can!! This time the beer was fine but the price unacceptable. So that was the end of our drinks for the day. We won't be back. Two weeks previous we had a great afternoon at Tauranga, where the choice of beers was wide and the cost was $5/bottle, including all premium brand beers. So it can be done.
