They need to get presenters back to the racetracks asap. Having interviews with trainers, jockeys etc is vital to keeping the sport alive and viewers feeling connected to it as well as punters getting knowledge about horses from the trainers, feedback from jockeys on the track conditions, updates on how horses look in the parade ring. At the moment for NZ racing you just have someone in a studio reading out the odds and it's pretty poor coverage compared with other sports and racing coverage in other countries.

Message to all the keyboard warriors commenting on this subject, why don't you pit your money where you fingers are, and get in touch with Tab Tracksside and ask if you can apply for a job with them if you think you can do a better job than the current hosts.   Also, if you don't like what Tab Trackside screens, then don't watch it!!

Racing.com coverage is the best in my mind and Trackside need to do something similar with a couple of form analysts, jockey expert, host and yard expert, then I think you should see some vast improvement.

They need to follow and replicate between racing.com and sky racing in Australia both have fantastic coverage and very in depth pre and post race on both channels.
And there magazine style shows are done with an eye for detail on all fronts, you look at the leg up its actually a disservice to the industry.

Totally agree about blocking horses parading in birdcage before race with dividends. We want to see what the horses look like. Why don’t they roll the dividends along the bottom of the screen, that way we can see both. Also agree about Trackside has become boring. We need some presenters with a bit of personality. 

Is it just me, or is Trackside getting worse along with the state of racing in this Country. My God it's so stale, hardly any interaction with trainers, owners, identities, no atmosphere, no excitement generated apart from Rodley getting all giggly while asking the same questions over and over, my favourite is " what does this victory mean to you " .. that guy from the TAB desk talking about horses trading at blah blah, going from 3.2 to 3.0 etc etc. Where has the human and animal factor gone ? Get some of our top identities in front of the camera, someone with personality along with knowledge .. example Samantha Spratt, how can you not love this lady ??.
Harness exactly the same ... boring boring, "don't you miss your mail from the whale" .. my God change it up team
Greyhound racing, I love the dogs, but what a shambles, nobody knows what commentators are assigned where, a lot of commentaries sound like they are done from the comfort of their home .. so bloidy boring, surely they have someone with more zest than Rosanowski ???
In general everything this has gone backwards to what it was 4 years ago. Used to enjoy Peter Earley and Des all that sort of stuff. And please don't blame Covid, yes issues couple of years ago .. but where's the comeback ?? .. it's all dying sigh

As for Flemo "laying it on " weather-wise, I froze my Weasely buns off the first three days and hightailed it back to Godzone before the hail froze over - the worst Cup week weather since Subzero won in 1992. Great city, though. Love the place, esp the Course of History, the slick TV presentations and Racing.Com previews/reviews, the on-course Racebooks (about 260pp of info! per raceday) and the feeling that this is an important industry/business/entertainment/spectacle - unlike NZ, where you slink onto a decrepit racecourse wearing dark glasses in case someone recognises you having a punt and pots you to the tut-tutting, virtue-signalling Powers That Be.

$5.00 at least in a field that size. She'll need to be clearly superior and/or get a lot of luck from the 'car park'. She might just be very special, but if she had a huge reputation for 'classiness' she'd be under $2.50, wouldn't she? I'm mindful that this is a time of year when many punters/owners/trainers are looking for signs they've got a very good horse (!), and many of them delude themselves. Understandable, cos it's an expensive game and hope springs eternal, esp in Spring.
I hope she wins, and TML is a sire on the rise...se what I mean? I'm almost talking myself into it! LOL

November 7 1995 - I strapped my grandfathers 10yo gelding in the GR.3 WFA Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ellerslie the day the Queen was on course.
I got all dressed up... I even wore a tie just in case we won and I got the chance to meet Her Majesty ! 😆
We hit the front at about the 200m (I straightened my tie) we were still in front at the 100m (I tightened my tie) we got beaten a head and a half head at the finish. (I ripped my tie) 💩 🙈🤣

They were in Dunedin in 1970, I think, or about that time, so I too was dragged along, as a young fella,  saw the Queen, Phillip, Charles and Anne do the walk through the University of Otago complex,  I may be incorrect about the foursome they were a bigger deal those days.
The Queen did 70 years, I'd be very surprised if Charles can beat that 😀, wonder if the TAB will be running a futures option lol.
Im not really big on royalty but I did find the Queen addressing the nation and the rest of the world during the pandemic rather inspiring, bearing in mind it was probably the first time since the Second World War that other than the Xmas message that she had addressed the nations iduring such a crisis.
i should add Xmas ain't a crisis, well not until the January bills come in lol.
