  1. Personal hunch based partly on revealed form, ..he is unlikely to leave many precocious/speedy types so the next two or three seasons his progeny will either win plenty of middle distance races or he'll go down in history as a disappointment.
  2. R1 – 2 Jake The Muss R2 – 3 Speech Craft R3 – 8 Our Wonderland R4 – 6 Lincoln Star R5 – 9 Adriatic Pearl R6 - 9 South Fork- R7- 12 Pop Star Princess R8- 3 Galaxy Miss .. many thanks to the generous sponsors
  3. Flicking through the fields for Wingatui Tuesday (today!) and I see the former Northerner Al Be Civics is still trying to break miaens at start 37...got me thinking...who is the most-tried maiden in the land (no smart comments, please, be nice to the lady Cafers!)... inote that the Andertons have Markwood racing too..start No 30 for him. I recall Affogato won a maiden at Ruakaka a year or two back at start 38 or 39 from memory.... anyone care to comment on this?
  4. woops my goof...from what I saw the 2nd horse would've won without interference...sorry ADM for the mistook ...but that's what I saw. I haven't seen the CZ and ZZG video to compare.
  5. I just took a peek at the replay ADM out of morbid curiosity..your horse had momentum and was (I think) in front just before and just after the post ...had the leader NOT run out and impeded your horse, KB would've won. I realsie this may not help you build any bridges...you can always say you beat Bonneval and have the video to prove it! Commiseations.
  6. Not guilty. Wouldn't never wrestle with a woman, particularly one who might be stronger than me. I have a reputation to uphold.
  7. For any Cafers interested, Donna has her first runner in Singapore this Tuesday...debutant Whakaaria Mai (by Showcasing) ..won a trial at Avondale last spring. I don't know how its gone at more recent trials in Singapore, just wishing Donna and team all the best for a successful start to the Singapore adventure. Apparently two more runners likely for Friday night at Kranji.
  8. C) Counties Race 6=#3 Gundown (W) E) Counties Race 7=#2 Brilliant Shine (P) F) Sydney Race 7 =#3 Hartnell (W) G) FF please many thanx
  9. Riccarton Race 7 #9 Greenpark Gem Randwick Race 5 #4 So Far Sokool Randwick Race 6 #2 Long Leaf Randwick Race 7 #3 Hartnell Randwick Race 8 #2 Vengeur Masque thank you kindly
  10. FWIW, Nigel Tiley indicated in the Herald Thursday that its likely to be Heavy.
  11. RIP BIll Nack...brilliant writer. Read his Sports Illustrated article on Secretariat 'Pure Heart' here. Best work of its kind I have ever read. https://www.si.com/longform/belmont/index.html
  12. It's a form guide, not a property register. Given the large and increasing number of syndicated horses and multiple syndicates owning horses, the pressure on (limited) print space is high. I'd rather see abbreviated (or no) ownership details than abbreviated form analysis. Just saying...and no need for you to be rude!
  13. HAWKES BAY - Race # 6 (3.40) #1 Nymph Monte HAWKES BAY - Race #7 (4.15) #7 Rikki Tikki Tavi SYD (CUP) - Race #8 (5.45) #17 Patrick Erin Many thanks.
  14. Owners names in print is irrelevant. If BB focus on horse/jockey/trainer/form analysis all will be well.
  15. Happy to agree to disagree on this issue LZ... to play devil's advocate here, I note that Frankel never travelled to UAE, USA or even across the ditch to France in his stellar unbeaten career of 17 races and earning a gi-normous Timeform rating. Why should Winx have to travel half way round the world? IMO she has nothing left to prove. Let the Europeans chase the Ozzie dollars at MV when the Spring beaks through...haven't they already down it once (Adelaide)?
  16. for what its worth I say keep It sImple YT and don't give us too many decisions to make! How about the Listed race at Hastings (1200m) as one of the 5 options to select 3 races from?
  17. I'm glad Winx ain't going to Ascot...La Zip you say "the international stage at Royal Ascot" ...well, isn't Moonee Valley an international stage on Cox Plate day? Winx's current rating is enough for me to feel comfortable that if any international challengers want to take her on, they can go to Oz in October and have a crack!
  18. I am very impressed by the way J Mac has responded to his self-inflicted suffering. Excellent I/v comments in media this week show a maturity and perspective on his life, career, health and wellbeing, ambition and ATTITUDE. Exemplary Someone should give his contact details to S Smith, D Warner and C Bancroft
  19. Riccarton- Race 6 Woodbine Lad Te Aroha- Race 7 Sultan of Swing Te Aroha Race 8 Darscape Princess Sydders -Race 7 Vin de Dancee thanking you YT
  20. TAB coverage of USA fields/betting - and I daresay HK andSingapore fields/betting is PATHETIC. They clearly want us to 'invest' (translation: risk and probably lose $$) but there is no FORM ANALYSIS shown with the runners. Example: the next race at Sha Tin: https://www.tab.co.nz/racing/extendedform.html?date=2018-04-02&meetno=19&raceno You may as well put a pin through it or back your favourite colour or jockey or number. Or go to bed!

Can I add some clarity to this thread by letting other Cafers know that the urine sample requested was sought about 10 years ago... http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/racing/674130/Top-jockeys-in-urine-switch-scandal
  22. All Cafers following this thread will be devastated to know I didn't get the $12k Danielle quaddie yesterday. But save your sympathy, no cards please... I have her to win the Jockeys premiership at 101-1 and after Saturday's effort she is only 25 behind (should be in front by lunchtime on 31 July!) Seriously though... my research shows the following for Sam Collett in March ...she'll be glad it's April From 113 rides in March ... · 12 wins, 7 x 2nd, 10 x 3rd (SR about 9.5) …last five completed race days with no winners · Longest losing sequence: 27 rides without a win (and counting) · 9 wins from her first 54 rides in March (SR about 6.0); 3 wins from her last 59 rides (SR: about 20)
  23. Q: Has Smerdon made any direct statement to the effect that he's done nothing illegal but has decided it's too costly to defend the charges so he's retiring? If it were me, I'd defend my integrity this way (directly deny wrongdoing) rather than walk away without stating my innocence. Q: If he had chosen to appear - and subsequently been vindicated - could he sue the authorities?
