I train and own rotovegas sparkey.Few more facts 4 u all to sink ya teeth into.sparkey is a great box dog walks in and waits at the front of the box.Box speed yes not as good now ever since the boxes failed to open one race meeting in Cambridge. Also the lure breaking down on her 100 meters or so in another race in Cambridge. So really the box not being right down what's the big deal.The handler is not to blame here either he has boxed a lot of dogs 10 time s harder than sparkey with no issues. The fact of the matter is who really lost out here?If sparky didn't place she would have downgraded. The starter dose a great job no ones perfect give the man a break. Next time make sure you take your can of CRC aye and spay them boxes lol. How them warriors going to do this year everyone?

I can understand the frustration and your right T B is a great dog and should be racing. That's what people what to see the best dogs racing one another. Unfortunately this week the numbers must not have being right to have another c5 457 or c5/c4 457. Like I say most times cambridge are pretty good to high grade dogs. I have nominated four c 5 dogs 318 alk and only got one in now that is frustrating Oh and 20 c5 dogs got nominated that day. Hence the reason I have a big hanky lol. At the end of the day carnt and never will keep every body happy so best of luck with T B next week if he dont gain a start this week.

Alltheway you are calling my dog that I have whelped reared broken in and now racing in c5 might I add shit. What gives you the right to think T B deserves to get a start over the other dogs. The race is selected on form and right now all the other dogs have better form .welcome to racing. Think how you would feel if you where actually Training ,doing all the hard work so what he will get a start next week I have a spear hanky if you want it. Nothing wrong with cambridge s selection criteria in my eyes. How ever if T B was to get nominated in alk it would get a start almost all the time as middle distance dogs get preference over any sprinter.

Dose Auckland have high grade meetings? I know they have low grade meeting as it is stated. The meeting is selected co up. I can not recall a high grade meeting there where it's selected c5 down. There is also nothing in there field selection for this? I find this a bit Un fear on the higher grade sprinters. What are people's thoughts on this ?

Lol what's the dogs ear got to do with this.The tape is the distraction here. If the dog was turning it's head to look at a white ear then it's a pretty straight forward out come ain't it.

At the end of the day what's done is done. Moving forward what changes will be made to eliminate or minimise the risk of this happening again. My view is the white tape on the ear or muzzle was the distraction. Why use white tape that's just asking for trouble. Black maybe a better choice in the future. Muzzles used to get checked before the races. If this was to happen the tape on muzzels or dog could be checked at the same time. Ensuring this distraction is gone.

Yes your right it is simple if all u do is train dogs. Not so simple for the people that work full time. Take a full day off work then travel just to trail a couple of dogs. It's a no brainer. Why not do it when your going up to race before the race meeting like they used to.

We feel the same just not on. Who did the checks on the lure or is that not important. Can anyone tell me if alk track have a preventative maintenance system going? Drive 3 hours stand out on the track with your dog while the lure goes round and round. To be told the lure is no good.10 hours sitting in the van for what. Alk has gone down hill over the last few months not allowing dogs to trial before races. Why do other tracks allow this? The new policy on this is rubbish. Running fields or running them after the full meeting who wants to sit around to do this if your in race 1. Not so great for the dogs either I believe. How is a trainer meant to keeps his dog fit if we can not trial?keeping in mind some trainers work full time. Come on Auckland sort it out.
