  2. That must be the opposite to Race 2 when the rest of the jockeys must have said "Rich Billy Marsh went too fast, so we let her go to a 15 length lead and win by 2 lengths". Didn't even rate a mention in the stipe's report.

  7. Yes truth be told I only survived one latin lesson and was thrown out. Evidently imitating the teacher's trouser belt being chest high was frowned apron. And as I later found, so is reading the Best Bets in a Physics class
  8. Howie, my latin is a bit rusty, but in the school motto of "Per Augusta, Ad Augusta" I thought you were after the second "to Glory" bit. PJ probably will change the team name to Per Augusta ( "through Hardship" ) to better reflect current form, if you ask him nicely.

  11. PJ, can I loan you my fluffy dice? The ones that come up Howie v Geoff 9 out of 10 times ?
  12. Yes MAGS and in the 70s there is no way you could call MAGS "Glamour Boys". Think the "dawn raids" era...
  13. Hi teammate Hesi, Just wondering what school you (wrongly) think Howie is from ?

  15. Me of much experience "things are looking up" ... when you are the bottom of the ladder, it is the only way you can look. When next along at the Cake Tin John, tell the Phoenix Management to start by getting a coach that doesn't need subtitles on the TV News.
  16. R1: #2 Merlini - $100 Win R3: #3 Thien Ly - $100 Place R5: #2 Felaar - $100 Place R6: #3 Chance to Dance - $100 Win R7: #1 Age of Fire - $100 Win thanks John The hardest part of this comp is to get the Phoenix to win

  18. When Howie came up with this team name I an afraid I always recall the family motto on Vicar of Dibley.... 'veni, vidi, spurius brutus deitrum covi', which means 'I came, I saw, I tore the thick bastards limb from limb'."
  19. Scratching replacement please. Was going to go 7. Live in Hope, as it seemed apt, but Roland has that. So have gone... R4: 1 & 14 BB
