  2. Darren Jones (48) died after a fall at Warialda.
  3. Painted Black was another Japanese bred horse to stand here, but they were pretty ordinary although I don't know that he was particularly well patronised
  4. Charlie was hilarious, a genuine good bloke, Trained trotters and dogs as well. He had a good dog called, I think, Roskill Prince
  5. Belinda

    Kiwi Can

Pure Theatre, he was a beautiful looking horse
  6. Even Stevens was a fairly handy sort too.
  7. TheMug, well named. I'm about as politically unPC as they come. Gingernuts is what we used to call every chesnut colt til it got a name. I just couldn't believe someone at HQ was naive enough to think they were naming their horse after a biscuit. "talk", he would have been a colt at some stage
  8. I cannot believe Gingernuts was allowable as a name
  9. Also a poor result from last year's RTR sale has pinhookers either unable to afford to buy or not confident in a reasonable return for their money
  10. I think there will be a lot of broodmares available or off to dog tucker
  11. Jumps racing is the only racing worth watching in the winter
  12. Actually it is often unevenness rather than hard that causes the most injuries to horses.
  13. I don't think he would have beaten the winner anyway.
  14. Videos of the breeze ups are on the nzb site now
  15. In the north they had the Eyelure Derby for women drivers for a few years before we were able to drive at the races. It was a non-tote event once a year from memory
  16. I was interested to see how those with the fastest breeze up times fared on the racetrack.
  17. Stating the obvious Bimbo, of course its not the bloody trots but same rule should apply.
  18. There is no way Baboonski should have been able to hold its placing. Earned money by eliminating another horse. At the trots, it would have been placed behind Kelly's horse, ie last
