dkc reacted to Thejanitor in And there it is.....
Good on them, what's the point of the horse sticking around here my old mate? There's nothing for him. He'll win plenty over there we know that. Frankly, I don't know why more owners don't send their horses to race in Australia. Stakes are better, easier racing, mainly miles at Menangle, smaller fields and more racing. A horse can race very week and pick up good stake money...

dkc got a reaction from Thejanitor in Derby and Oaks
Oaks are always a fillies race.
Derby in all codes are open.
If you look at the programs a filly can start in the Derby.

dkc got a reaction from Theladdownsouth in HRNZ Making Plans for Nigel
Think it's time for a vote of no confidence in our board.

dkc got a reaction from Keneperu in And the decision for CJ....
Compared CJ's drive with J Hay at Wyndham yesterday.
He was at it with a round to go. But only warned for his action in the home straight.
It's all wet bus ticket stuff. What they should be doing is checking horses after the race for whip marks. Only fair way imo.

Technically 2 yr olds but realistically 3yr olds under the old system but see what your getting at
-
dkc reacted to JJ Flash in Another one bites the dust woodend beach
No matter which way you look at it he pleaded guilty to breaking the codes rules. As the old saying goes " you do the crime you do the time"
Will these younger ones ever learn?

dkc got a reaction from Value Bell in Campbell family from Palmerston South.
Velocity Jet had its first start at Invercargill on Saturday.
It's a descendent

dkc got a reaction from john legend in Common sense please TAB
They have no common sense.
Sunday is a prime example.
Ellerslie channel 1, Westport channel 2. Absolutely brainless and one would have to ask why? Is the pressure from others for this to be happening? Also Sunday Channel 1 has always been harnesses domain.
We are getting shafted by the TAB plain and simple.

dkc got a reaction from LongOwner in addington race 2 debacle
So stipes check freeze brands.
Where is that covered in the stipes report. Obviously 2 mistakes made by them as well.
Are they also not accountable?

dkc reacted to Spikecity in Motukarara , What a Shambles
Just my take on it, but I don't think it was abandoned until after the race was over. Terrible look and all drivers should have been fined. Unless you are told the race is abandoned the drivers should have continued. Yes it was junior drivers and most didn't know what they should be doing. some were pulling up and some were continuing. It isn't the drivers call to decide wether or not the race should continue. Felt sorry for the connections of the winner having to come all the way from southland to face that abortion of a race.

dkc got a reaction from b kelly in The Clubs have spoken
The landslide victory by Bill McDonald should be a clear message to the board that the kindred bodies have had enough.
The immediate past chairman gone.
Unfortunately one person isn't going to change anything but hopefully it sends a clear message to the rest

dkc reacted to john legend in Addington Noms !!!!
I know not a sexy topic at all BUT.... the extension of noms has been thrashed out ,however when they had 135 noms on monday and now 120 their woolly thinking backfired..... I believe it is unfair on trainers /owners who do everything on time then others can peruse the noms and decide to race or not esp hard on maidens as preference can put in a late nom ahead of an existing nom. This is nowthe norm for noms... regardless of real need (135 ) Clubs need to stop the policy or extend to the next day all noms...

dkc got a reaction from Jeep in A New Topic - Fair or Not for Trent?
4 days on bute because the horses have been shod.
If the horses are sore they shouldn't be going anywhere. That would include being worked!
-
dkc reacted to napier in Thursday trackside 1.
Great to see both the Thoroughbred and Standardbred action on the same channel on Thursday.
Pity it does not happen all of the time.

Could't disagree with you more TM.
Entrapement, Really????
He knew what he'd given them and any withholding periods...
How many senior trainers do you see being brought before the JCA for similar offences?
EVERBODY knows the rules.
Personally I think he got off lightly. Throw the book at them, it's time to start stamping this out once & for all. Otherwise the industry looks weak and it gives the animal welfare groups more ammunition!!

Perhaps its time that every drug given to a horse is notified. Doesn't matter when.
Should be easy with microchipping. Scan and notify!
