  1. How’s it going to drive revenue ? I see it as turning people of racing. Punters want the whole package not a mind numbing experience.
  2. So the generals stay and the foot soldiers are abandoned great strategy . How about keeping the foot soldiers and lynching the incompetent generals ?
  3. You couldn’t put it any better Ted .Makes your blood boil thinking about the carnage we are witnessing .
  4. Who’s to say stakes will not drop further in August ?
  5. Not sure about 27,000 trainers and 618 jockeys ? Maybe I misread it.
  6. Most smaller clubs will tell them to F off . You don’t want us our assets will go back to where they came from our local communities . Look where these so called money men have got us .
  7. I think the general consensus in the early stages when thousands of people were coming back to NZ and told to self isolate wasn’t going to work . JA s reasoning was that couldn’t isolate 40 k .Well if they truly went hard army type barracks tents ect could of been set up near the airport and those coming home were given this only option till they were cleared . Would of been a mission to achieve but maybe the country’s lockdown could of been avoided ?
  8. If they can operate letting go 30 % of the staff does that prove they were well overstaffed or will the service deteriorate even further ?
  9. Great to see the greyhounds back tomorrow . Not one to bet on them much but thought heck might put a few $$$ through the TAB at Wanganui . Now you’d think the TAB and the numerous employees would be doing everything to get us interested .So I click on dogs comments and all you get is N/A ? Absolutely pathetic !
  10. That dickhead John A is a great example clubs don’t surrender their assets .
  11. I have enjoyed the way the Aussie guys and gals analysis their races and the selections are short and sweet .A lot less of telling you how to sound your $$$$$.
  12. We have protocol in place that works like this: One entry point for all trainers Wash or hand sanitise at track provided washing station BEFORE unloading horses Use your prearranged X ties - a gap of 5 metres between different trainers Fill in their own notebook with who is on site, what time you arrived - this is our contact tracing requirement - no unlicensed staff on site Hose bay use - hand sanitiser to be used before touching hose bay taps or hose - provided at the hose bay Fill in notebook as you leave hand sanitise before loading horses to leave easy really but we are a small track who have all worked together to get back on track.
  13. I think most racing people enjoy sports but many sports people aren’t interested in racing but with more exposure that could only be a +
  14. I see you’ve meantioned all the high profile guys ? That’s part of the problem the smaller guys are generally overlooked .Plus each training operation is different to the next hence the fractured responses. For example if I own 90 % of my own horses why wouldn’t I start taking them to the track ASAP ?
  15. Then the Messara report was quick to put the boot into country tracks that serve their local communities well. The main instigators of our demise are those that weren’t under review .
  16. You only have to be in John Allen’s presence for a couple of minutes to realise his mouth opens and fires in gear before the brain is engaged .theres so much going on at once .Someone please explain how he ended up in such an important role ?
  17. Rosehill R4 2-6 R5 8-10 R6 13-14 R7 1-8 R8 2-6 Flemington R4 1-4 R5 9-12 R6 4-11 R7 1-13 R8 11-17 Cheers
  18. Bet John Allen sitting back enjoying his healthy bank balance . How they employed that idiot I could never in a million years understand.
  19. Not putting horses into work for a few days won’t achieve much ? If he’s the president of the NZTA why did he say on the news he’d jump ship to AU pretty quick ? Bit like the captain of the Titanic jumping ship first ummmm .
  20. Wasn’t there a draft stakes schedule out recently ? Had 15 k maidens but also 15 k open handicaps ? 100 k group races at Hastings on first two days and Livermol 200 k or maybe I just dreamt if?:)
  21. The pessimist complains about the wind, the optimist expects it to change ,the realist adjusts the sails .
  22. Part of the issue is also the changing of the seasons racing is back in the winter racing period most horses up and fit were late summer/Autumn types .

Why do we have to create an industry out of an industry ? NZ racing isn’t squeaky clean but hell it doesn’t need many officials to oversee it.
