  1. Vassilator's race https://twitter.com/Racing/status/988995388093808640
  2. Impressive horse by Zacinto winning the Listed Anzac Stakes at Flemington today coming from last.
  3. I had a hand in the mating of Jimmy Choux, Miss Wilson, Choux Diva, and Bootlegger who broke a leg not long after winning and he had a full sister as well that did not win. So 2 Group One winners and 3 duds from 5 matings. The late Clive Harper helped with Laced Up and Chouxshine. Choux Mania by Redoute's Choice was a mating done for commercial reasons
  4. Agree with you there Huey they were handy stallions, but any brood-mare owner trying to breed a Group One winner from either stallion and trying 62 or 108 times would be financial disaster for most. It depends what you are happy with, those odds or < 1 in 3
  5. She was served by Thorn Park who produced a Group One winner on average 1 in every 62 runners.. she went to him twice. She was served by Stratum who produced a Group One winner on average 1 in every 108 runners she went to him once. To planned matings she has produced a Group One winner on average less than 1 in 3 Her biggest failure so far has been the most expensive stallion. Redoute's Choice.
  6. Something for you Berri Miss Wilson winner of Saturday's Group One New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes becomes the second Group One winner produced from her dam Cierzo a $2,500 purchase from The Informant. Miss Wilson now a very valuable mare being a half to 5 time Group One winner Jimmy Choux. Both horses the results of planned matings using line breeding. It perhaps should be noted Cierzo could not win a race and has been on sold for mega times her purchase price.
  7. Impressive winner today .. impressive pedigree
  8. That's where I would be putting my money, I think broodmare owners get more bang for their buck there.
  9. Good to see Tavistock get a mare first past the post for a change in the Epona Stakes . bolted in ...encouraging
  10. Just wondered what happens if the stallion dies...? there has been a few lately.
  11. as much as I like Fiorente who had a great turn of foot and really appreciate him being by Monsun, his dam is 3X3 to Danzig which I am not sure is a good thing. On investigating his female tail line he is a direct descendent of Goody Two-Shoes. Other direct descendents of Goody Two-Shoes include Sadler's Wells, Fairy King, Nureyev and more recently Northern Meteor.
  12. Australian Stud Book figures..top 25
  13. Stallion coverings Britain and Ireland 2017
  14. This is a very smart horse in England. Both stallion and mare from the Danehill sire line, by itself it wouldn't interest me. But this is quite different and some of the reasons why I don't take too much notice of the double Danehill stats. There is a lot going on here and I believe in this case it is a plus.
  15. Hats off to Trelawney Stud for getting more bang for their buck from their service fee to O'Reilly
  16. So when looking at a pedigree for the first time I would always start with the mare and her male line, as we can see it is same as the sire''s sire line. So a double Danzig. However in this case it is a bit deeper than that as Danzig's sire Northern Dancer also connects with his half sister Spring Adieu in Danehill's female line. That part I think is brilliant. I would then look at the 2nd dam and there is no BIG connection here with Darci. Maybe a slight one with Darshaan and Wilkes both from the #13 Bruce Lowe family , some call it the Kite family. Same with the 3rd dam. 4th dam is BY Northern Dancer. WOW not many mares can claim that. Again connects beautifully with Danehill's female family. For perfection I would like to see a good line breeding pattern on the female side of Darci. If Wilkes was on the male line of either the 2nd or 3rd dam I would say it was a pedigree (or a piece of paper ) as close to perfect as you could get. And much like playing cards, it would be a good idea to have a look at the horse and see what one has been dealt.
  17. Hope this answers part of your question, 76 Group One winners inbred to Danzig. But to my mind there is far more to a pedigree than one duplication. I think doubling Danzig is a good thing, it just depends where the duplication is in the pedigree how much value I would place on it.
  18. Danehill served 15 Zabeel mares 14 runners 12 winners 1 Group One winner Darci Brahma.
  19. This is a very interesting pedigree when looking at what appears on the 'male lines' of the mares and how it sits with the stallion.
