No. When the Derby was on Boxing Day the Waikato Guineas was run in early November. That changed when the Derby was moved to March, and until recently Te Rapa had two Saturdays in a row, and the Guineas was run on the first day and the week later the Sir Tristram Fillies Classic. Now Te Rapa only has the one Saturday meeting instead of two, so the Guineas is on the same day as the fillies race and just a week before the Avondale Guineas at Ellerslie. So basically another programming failure that no one thought 'is this a good idea' before they went through with it.

Sort them out Barry. After all it’s your club.
I am still hammering on at Trentham, and sticking up for them when I have too.   P.S. Rumpole reincarnated.

The reality of NZs climate is that we need backup plans, and particularly so for racing. And that approach seems to be lacking from our current "leaders".

Your logic is questionable and far from reality. Two different scenarios. If the World Wide Web has revealed a fact, then it’s in the public arena already! It’s already revealed for everyone to see, read, etc. it’s not a secret. The suppression laws are archaic in this day and age and far from the reality of the 21st century.

You sound like the PR agent for the Ellis's. I don't think you read or get what I originally said. Sir Tristram is iconic. He was a breed shaper, an outlier for want of a better expression. It may have been that he stood at Cambridge Stud, but Sir Tristram is now part of our history. That fillies race should always have a name that doesn't change. Any entity that wants to sponsor it should have their name tacked onto the front of it. The reason for this is that when we look at catalogues, we want to know what race is what. If you change the name how can you tell. The sponsorship may only last for a couple of years for all we know.
Seriously Scooby....you don't get the beef?!?

I don't get it and I'm fuming. How the hell can the Sir Tristram Classic be renamed the David and Karen Ellis Fillies Stakes? NZTR....work out your policies in respect of naming these important and historic group races, especially the 3 yo group races. We have catalogues where we try and work out the merits of the black type races. If you change the names how the hell are we going to follow what race is what. And fancy changing the name from an iconic stallion that is immortal to a race after two people's name where one of them is the chair person of the racing club. if you get a sponsor, then call it the David and Karen Ellis Sir Tristram Classic.
Come on you people....this is crazy

That’s the Riccarton track full stop!
The way that it was relayed 20 years ago was flawed, so will never get any better.
If they were to dig it up and redo it (the only answer) where are they going to race?

Japan is a closed shop to outside owners... well virtually.
    A bit like through the 1700 & 1800’s
If that’s the way they want to play it, so be it.
Disclosure: I spent three weeks there in September (this year) and loved the place, the people, etc, so damned if I know, what the powers that be are thinking!

Sometimes, particularly at this time of the year weird things occur.
Matamata had a $10,000 maiden two year old race and had to ballot out several horses last Sunday.
Te Rapa will have a $30,000 two year old race where the top rated runner is a maiden, and they get six runners.

Z are very much involved in climate change initiatives I've read , I've just filled a gas guzzling mean machine there and revved the living daylights out the beast cause it makes me feel like a tough  man . Iam spotting that some companies talk the talk , don't walk the walk  on these issues .
What actually do HK jockey club do , please for the love of God don't say raise awareness cause most are pretty well aware .
Now I hear some of these rich uni educated privilege who don't work for a crust at the sharp end of life  stop rush hour tube trains  telling how they won't fly , don't buy anything they don't need , don't buy new clothes . Some laud them for these actions . Good stuff however I know plenty of people been doing that for years , now there is a name for these people . They are called " the poor " . Privilege preaching to the masses , rubbing the hard working noses in it . Yep a few cleaners who clean posh offices in early hours for minimum wage paying rent likely to parents of said privileged kids ,  trying to feed own kids would love the chance to decide not to fly to Hawaii this year for hols .
Now Conghua to Happy Valley,  how far , how many gas guzzling trucks do HKJC now use to truck horses to races nowdays from the big new training track . Do they have "don't fly on planes poor people " advert on the sides .

The Kaikoura Trotting Club is going to have to hold this event at their South Bay racecourse. Only because this racetrack has the ocean right behind the back straight and all attendees for the day need to sail to the races, no trucks, cars etc allowed.
Standing starts only, no mobile starts obviously as this isn't environmentally friendly.
All racegoers on the day get to take home with them a pile of horse poo, to put on their organic gardens when they get home (2-3 days later, depending on sea conditions). It goes without saying, no plastic bags will be given out to get said horse poo home.
Definitely has merit this idea. I can see it getting off the ground.

That will be because of your PC, either not enough Ram or CPU maxed out. Either its a dated device or you have far too many things running on it.
Ctrl+Alt+Del will tell you whats wrong, easy solved.
Download the free version of this and clean all the hidden rubbish off your PC will certainly help.
