  1. What the friggin hell does that mean? Once again Mr ......... all comes on to try and show us up! Come in Miss Jools, you might be able to help us understand Curious, otherwise known as Leggy.
  2. Two NZ Bred's fought out 1st and 2nd anyway. Just saying

  4. I tuned into Cheltenham last night. where there were 60,000+.people on course. Based on pre-ticket sales, 250,000 are expected over the four days. This is down from the record of 280,267 in 2022.
  5. Once again you prefer to read something the way you want to, rather than what is being said. Once again it’s not a “rebuild” of the Hastings track, it’s simply a renovation. I would call Awapuni and Ellerslie a rebuild, not a renovation.
  6. Leggy, you never fail to amaze me!
  7. Hastings update. This morning I had the opportunity to call into the Hastings racecourse, peep over the running rail and see what’s happening. Guess what Leggy and Chiksnsmack it’s exactly as I explained and expected. Just because (as always Leggy) wants to read more into it, or change what the writer has written doesn’t make him right! Once again the truth is that it’s a renovation of the Hastings track , not a rebuild! Anyway, from what I could see the grass has been cut right back (hence it browned off) debris was removed, divots filled, fertiliser applied, under sewed and is now in the process of being irrigated for maximum grass growth in time for the HB Cup meeting. Interestingly, the irrigation was of a moveable variety and was placed in the very centre of the track for the full circumference of the track so that both sides of the course got equal watering, subject of course to the wind.
  8. The future for next years 3 year old fields look pretty promising if you take into account the numerically high number of well bred two year olds going around at Taupo tomorrow. Given the much higher stakes now available I am expecting a higher percentage than normal will be staying here to race instead of being sold. Having said that, $500k from HK will take some turning down as to win that, you colt or gelding will still need to win approximately $700K to better the $500K in the hand instead of the ongoing costs and the RISK.
  9. I actually think that Mick Guerin is one of the more knowledgeable people in the game. Him and Luke Radich are light years ahead of anyone else. Who else in the Trackside lineup puts their money up in “real ownership” and in both codes too?
  10. What’s going on given the size of the two cities?
  11. Aren’t these gates exactly the same ones that are used in Australia on their major tracks? If so why aren’t they having problems? Leggy you must know something.
  12. The Trentham track seemed to be well presented yesterday. It seemed to play fair and square. Not a single comment was made about it in the Stipes Report other than part way through the day it was upgraded from a Good 4 to a good 3.
  13. Leggy, you don’t seem to know or understand what they are doing at Hastings. Reread my post in the other thread and try and bring yourself up to date or at least stop trying to confuse other people.
  14. This makes for interesting reading; https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/350205748/overdue-investment-racing-awapuni-pays
  15. Drum roll please. The leading scorer today and the only person to individually top $1000 is Scooby. Well done mate I hope that you backed one or two. Congratulations from your teammates Liz, Monty & Joan
  16. 1. Ellerslie R6: 4/11 2. Ellerslie R7: 9 [BB] 3. Ellerslie R9: 6 [BB] 4. Flemington R4: 2/4 5 . Flemington R5: 1/8 6. Flemington R6: 1/11 7. Flemington R8: 5/10 8. Randwick R3: 3 9. 17. Correct on both accounts. [In red] Time for the British to backtrack and admit that they made a mistake. The "where" is right there, nowhere else, and until that happens there will always be conflict.
  18. No there’s not, I’ve got no money left after doing it all just then. Worst of all I could see it unfolding before my very eyes! With Willo riding last time even I was able to ride him (via the TV) all the way to the wire and get a thrill, if not some of my money back.
  19. Seems like a good choice and I like Rodney's comments, particularly making reference to Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters contribution.
  20. You could be right. Tell us more.
  21. That's absolutely stupid isn't it?
  22. Natural irrigation took place overnight so all will be ok. Is this low key meeting one of Awapuni's race dates, because of the closure there? Otherwise it is absolutely stupid.
  23. Chestnut, you have given your age away mentioning my friend the late Phillip Leishman. He was the sort of quality [hopefully] that can be picked up from the demise of Newshub. Remember everyone, the great Phillip Leishman was from NZ Broadcasting, the Government owned public service. So he was properly trained, not some scruffy kid given a chance because there is no way that they could make it elsewhere or in the main stream, which is what some of them appear to be, especially with their diction. I rest my case!
  24. Different. They are a service provider [Councils], not a "for profit" organisation like Warner Brows owned Newshub.
