Luke sits in the impartial lane, not too close to anyone and not afraid to put things out there.
It’s great, what we need, ask the questions that need to be asked, not fence sitting….

Would he want to, after what he's been calling?
It'd be like getting forced out of your Red Bull Formula 1 drive and accepting a ride in a Lime Scooter race
That maybe stretching it a little as NZ doesn't have F1 quality horse races, so maybe from Formula E to a Lime Scooter race?

I'm pretty sure the Remutaka Classic is a middle distance race, not a staying race like the cup and as has been pointed out above is in a completely different programming category, not in competition at all but welcome additional interest to the day's racing.

Why was the old programming changed, Welly Cup into the Telegraph, imagine trying to find the horses nowadays to have the 3 days, and Manawatu on the Monday as well….

A lot of money up and I'm pretty sure if you could get J Mac on your horse you would . I'm also sure Grylls and Spratt have got on horses at the expense of lesser jockeys over the years , it's the nature of the beast .

I find it annoying how the presenters on Trackside make such a big deal after the 1st then 2nd race about what part of the track is best to run on. Today at Pukekohe, saying it was too wet on the inside, had to go out wide. Almost putting words in jockeys mouths in interviews after the race, saying they would surely have to come down the outside later. I think Warren Kennedy disregarded that, not all his winners came wide. The thing is, speaking to the punters, what can we possibly do about it anyhow. Where does it say on the TAB sheet where certain jockeys are going to run down the home straight. We cant tell the jockeys I'm only going to back you if you come down a certain part of the track. Owners/trainers might throw them off if they dont follow instructions, but to the ordinary punter, what is the point of even going on about it? Ok. I could find the mute button, but I like to hear what the trainers/jockeys say after the race. K whinge over.

Nothing will change, and therefore not a single dollar more should be spent ,while the present administration (there's a misnomer)  is in place.Have already wasted a fortune on in-fighting and consultants proposing grandiose projects while all the time exhibiting a "siege mentality" from reason.
Down to the local bowling club the bloody lot of you!!

Chris Wood got a reaction from Gruff in $723
The meeting at Cambridge yesterday had an average crowd, the Clubhouse bar and restaurant had one tote operator, people queuing up to get there money on, many shut out.
30 to 40 people there were asked to leave 30 minutes after the last race, most tap beers were not available, obviously no kegs were ordered,
On Thursday a band was set up to play there, no one seemed to relay the message to the corporate customers who had been enjoying their day up on the top floor, great music was played, to about 25 people at the max. Felt sorry for the band, great guys and music, but the word didn’t get around.
And they wonder why trotting is going backwards?
Wouldnt have happened when JT was running the Clubhouse!

You can’t keep running these big meetings at a loss, the money for the land development might be good for a few years, but what do you sell next when that’s gone?
Land development is a specialist activity, ask the Auckland Trottind Club!

Not too many desirable alternatives there Gruff. It's the perfect time to make up a new word to cover the problem. Linguistic change is happening all the time, some good, some bad, so how about some suggestions and we can mount a case for adoption of a suitable one which avoids the  connotations linked to "whip".
I'd lean more towards the "pleasure" side of the debate, with the horses controlled by predominantly leather harness, and call it a "Plumley".

What could possibly go wrong ?
    Probably the turnover projections.
Geo blocking shouldn't happen, no one likes Sky's monopoly, why is this any different ?

Like to be a fly on the wall at the AGM, everyone has to wear name tags, voting time on a few testing issues.
Grins might have been a good concept, but to run at such a loss?
The Bar has been ordinary for along time, JT got the best out of it, he ran it superbly.
Great location, but the patronage tells the story….
