Can't believe I did that! Oh well. The one number I leave off and it's a winner!!!

Hi PJ - had a bad day so definitely can't afford to let a winner go uncredited!!! You appear to have left off my last selection, Dollar for Dollar, paying 10.40. Cheers mate.

What's with that?

Very promising filly in Western Australia 'Pearls and Prawns' won its 2nd race today to make it 2 from 2. Badega beaten 3/4s of a length on debut at Matamata also today. And Easy Beast won easily resuming at Morphettville on Adelaide Cup day, Monday. Here's hoping they can all step up to better things during the autumn.

That's your opinion Lloyd however I stand by my statement that Bowman had already lost his balance before the horse made any substantial movement.
NO way!! Have to agree to differ strongly on that one!
Cheers. Let's hope he's OK.

Did you see the race? I replayed the incident 6 times and the horse ducked AFTER Bowman came off.
As old Pogo used to often say - A visit to the Fred Hollows Clinic definitely in order!!! You're blind Admin!!

dbtab - you'd be completely wrong about the ride. Slow out of the gates, Danielle was pushing him the whole trip just to stay in touch [ although he was NOT 6 lengths last at any stage] and gave him one behind the saddle well before the turn to try and get him get going. He's a stayer and sprouted wings when the 1400m horses were starting to step short. He's a good one, make no mistake. Remember he's got to run another 1000m in a couple of months....and I'm picking he'll sprint like that for his last 250 just the same!!

Splurge wins his 8th - a G2 - and takes his earnings north of $230,000. Still a way to go on his purchase price, but a fair sort of horse and may yet be G1 winner before the season is over......

The assumption European horses cannot win without a start in Australia will be eventually be broken. Tiberian for me.

Pardon my ignorance here - but is it just the sheer size of the pools that makes it such a difficult thing? Why can't it be handled like other races where an emergency gets a run?? Just curious..
