  1. This sorts out whether UR was a 2yo in 1976 [definitely] but doesn't have any bearing on whether the day he was rolled by Crest Star or High Saint, was the first days racing at Ruakaka ...
  2. So interested to see the figure for Prized. [being President and Chairman of the Fan Club!!] I think he will be real good broodmare sire and from limited numbers has produced some top horses already.
  3. They do actually - cause their share price is justified on that basis as well. Actually, it just means they paid a bit much for the horse and they have only a few seasons to recoup their 'investment.'!
  4. Where did that Press Day thing come from??!!!! I was counting my points at the 50m mark with a nice quinella I thought!!! Good on you Kay!
  5. Sounds ominously like a certain R McDonald a year or two back with another sprinting bred horse W Hussler. A Stravinsky running over 2 miles?????? Really????? NAH!
  6. Hope The Apprentice was paying attention.....

  10. Don't throw that ticket away! She's absolutely top class. Make no mistake. She quite simply shouldn't have started. Forget the run - except for the benefit she will derive from it and another two weeks work, If you get my drift. She's an exceptionally talented mare. Don't miss her next time she lines up if the track is anywhere near reasonable.
  11. Banged into Grant Shaw [who worked for Brian Deacon and then the Tuckers for a number of years] just the other day and we were reminiscing a bit about the 'old days' in Takanini - we were talking about Robbie & Grant. Sorry to hear Robbie has passed away. Condolences to the family.

  13. Hey Sticko - sorry to hear about this. Hope you're soon back on your feet mate.
  14. Peeeeeet - can I pleeeeeeeease join??? I didn't realise this was coming up so quick and I've obviously missed nominations. If there are any late scratchings please consider me on the ballot! Thanks and sorry! Lloyd
  15. Thanks Peter - I guess I only altered the margins a little!! Really enjoyed the competition and looking forward to the next too. Cheers!
  16. Hi Peter Hey I was out all day yesterday and didn't hear most of the races. I have just picked up the paper and seen that Rangirangdoo was scratched from R5. My selection in case of a scratching was No 2, Road to rock Road to Rock. I didn't get any points for this. Does it affect the winner or am I still too far away from Ziggy in the final washup??
  17. Yep - I left that one alone but kind of hoped Haileys might have come in in Race 3.... or Kudakulari in R 4 [ even Sasa would have been OK!!].....or Precedence in R6... I actually never got ONE Star tip the whole comp!!! So I have to be content with 2nd at my first try in this sort of comp. Maybe I'll have figured out a better method by the Queensland Winter Carnival.
  18. Yeah - thanks Peter! Really enjoyed the comp. Congratulations to Steve [Ziggy]!!
  19. Sydney; R4: 4,13,5 [1] R5: 5,1,2 [9] R6: 1,8,5 [10] R7: 2,11,5, [6] Perth: 3,5,13 [2]

  21. The claim [apparently] was that D O'Brien was "the former trainer of Makybe Diva" - not the trainer of the winner of a race named in her honour!
