  1. I put her in for a place on the tipping forum competition. Can't see her [or anything else for that matter!] beating 'Whobie' today..
  2. Thanks for those stats... I'm not knocking the horse - I like him a lot - just posting my observations... I guess I'm basing it to some extent on his best winner to date, Ekstreme, who definitely likes it wet and is not up to G1 class on good tracks. I agree those stats show that my observation may be a bit askew but I think time will show them to have a preference for 'a cut in the ground' than very hard and fast tracks; let's put it that way. I agree, he is a most promising sire and wish all concerned with him all the best. I think he'll prove a good sire of middle distance/stayers in time, too.
  3. But good track will help him more than a good draw on a heavy track.... it won't surprise me if he gets a cheque of some sort...maybe 4th, 5th???
  4. R1: 4,6 [2] R2: 7,1 [3] R3:7,14 [15] R4: 1,15 [11] R5: 6, 10 [9] R6: 3,4 [16] R7: 1,12 [14] R8: 3,2 [14] Star: C Newitt
  5. Is using/taking P legal then? If not, then why wouldn't he face criminal charges if found to have been using it?
  6. On wet tracks, certainly... The Ekraars are looking like wet track types to me...
  7. Did they not get her heart all back in??? Seemed to stop when she sounded like the race was hers??? [ I didn't see the race - only heard it] ....was it a bad effort?? What happened???
  8. R1: 6, 9 [10] R2:8,16 [2] R3: 3,14 [13] R4:2,5 [7] R5: 4,2 [1] R6: 6,2 [7] R7: 2,3 [7] R8: 5, 10 [3] STAR Trainer: Mr C Waller!!
  9. So, we've got Steve Cauthen, Basil Marcus.....
  10. But one unquestionable fact is that the allocation of their dates has been a huge factor in the demise of this club. Two Saturday dates in a year is a nonsense for a Club in the middle of Auckland. And on a separate issue: how much would it cost to put in a glass/perspex front to the main grandstand? Sitting there on most occasions I have ever been there [the last of which is many years ago] clenching my teeth against the biting south-westerly wind was not conducive to a good day at the races!!
  11. I'd be willing to say that like your recent post, "This is not correct!' I think you'll find when you actually check the record books that very few have achieved this. Not just been very successful: WON the jockey's premiership in two countries. I'd say that was quite a feat indeed.
  12. Well...that settles THAT then! What did he say about the date???
  13. Well done Sulieman! Too good! I'll have to mow lawns or something else constructive on a Saturday now!!
  14. Yep - but the tension waiting for the result nearly killed me!!!!
  15. R1: 15, 12 [8] R2: 1,2 [4] R3: 5,8 [3] R4: 8,1 [13] R5: 2,3 [9] R6: 15,7 [4] R7: 15,11 [1] R8: 5,4 [2] Star Jockey: ????? ummmmm J Byrne to bounce back on Tabulate.... Good luck Sulieman.
  16. Glad to hear of others who share my interest in him Gail! Prized was such a fantastic looking type, and a top notch galloper [one of very few who ever beat Easy Goer] and being from the Roberto, Kris S line I'm sure he'll kick a lot of goals as a broodmare sire. I don't know what has happened to Prized Touch - he looked a top horse in the making last year - I wish you well with your mare. Who knows - if she leaves a champ YOU might be President!
  17. I have read the whole thread Theysay and I'm not questioning the horses involved. Your post certainly helped to establish that Uncle Remus WAS a 2yo in 1976 and therefore Bob's recollection of the race being in 1976 was correct. However - that does not help us in establishing whether the day Uncle Remus got beaten in 1976 by High Saint was in fact, the first days racing at Ruakaka - and that was the 'jist' of Bob's initial statement/question in light of the press statement that the first day's racing happened in 1974. Do you have any other official information which could shed some light on that?
  18. I take it this means that the first poster has 'right of pick' then? ie; the 2nd poster has to pick at least 5 different to the first poster??
