  1. Geez, imagine if Crown start charging to enter their Casino? or any Casino for that matter, imagine the strip in Vegas if they were slugging punters to hit the machines, these people need to get out more.
  2. Been there, feel for all of you, tried too hard, only the good ones, best wishes.
  3. As I've said previously, ''there are none so dangerous as those that believe their own bullshit'', John has either been hoodwinked, or he's delusional.....?
  4. Don't have to sell now Pam. Our saviour John Allen has found 4.7 mil, we can all relax.
  5. Well Fitzy my Mrs and i have bought plenty at Sydney summer over the years, we don't find it any different now to what it was 30 years ago when we started buying there. As to Karaka, depends on who you know I spose, however I have to re hash, those breeders you speak about, well, many survive due to Asia Fitzy, shame isn't it, they'd starve to death without that outlet, it's a sorry fact. As breeders we made a pact, we'd rather race them here or AUS and keep them in the back paddocks and grow them out without ruining our pedigree pages by sending them up there......to each his own, however it's how we are.
  6. Vin Cox inherited a cash cow Scooby, he hasn't improved what David Chester left him, it's grown naturally, it will always be my opinion that it's over rated and overpriced through hype. This is the first sale of the year, for obvious reasons the Queensland yearlings are well grown and look fab, nature helps them, but looking at some of the others that brought money, not on your nellie would I pay that kind of money just for a pedigree page, a good sort yes, but a lot were small, nothing special/outstanding and you watch down the track when they do nothing, I'd rather see and buy at SYD Summer and Karaka, where generally you get what you pay for.......having said that I've only ever bought a couple from SYD Easter, that to is the pedigree page over type, and have a look at the big money flops, hundreds of them, all bought by agents using other peoples money.....IMO and thankfully I'm entitled to that....for now?
  7. What Chevy said, and more...of course Karaka is a main contender, I'm trying to express that SYD and Karaka will be true indicators, or let's say better indicators.....of where the market really is at.
  8. The B Graders Trump, they are in the celebrity tent, not trainers, I'd only refer to B grade trainers as per the crap that hurt their horses, 99% of trainers try their guts out, and are good, decent people........You're entitled to your opinion Trump as I am to mine. I'm talking from experience having been underbidder on some lovely horses there only to find out later it was a 'pre-sale'!..........Now MM are not Robinson Crusoe at that, however, having been witness to some of the most sickening sights one could imagine at that sale, due to alcohol, and not seeing it at Inglis Summer or Easter come to that, I'm well and truly sticking to my opine Trump, your 'load of crap' is based on results/track records/behaviour and more.......my owners didn't want to get caught up in all the hype and bull shit, so they purchased elsewhere. As for LOS and DE, well, good luck to them, my MO is to avoid the Gold Coast full stop.
  9. If you'd like to PM me we can discuss further?
  10. Where are you? and are you prepared to travel?
  11. It will be 'interesting' full stop Newmarket, the sales that is. Don't for a minute think what happened on the Gold Coast might happen here, we hope it does, for all our sakes, however in all reality the MM sales are a giant piss up, mine's bigger than yours' type thing, it always has been, other peoples money type guys, all trying to be the 'man in the spotlight'. We gave up trying to buy there in the early 90's, testosterone/alcohol fuelled bidding, spot the celebrity, [B Grade] the name of the game, a good indicator on how the industry is sitting will be Sydney Summer. Always has been, a brilliant sale, good horses can be bought for reasonable money, so, the Northern Hemisphere sales have been down, not by much but trending south price wise, let's hope Sydney and then Karaka hold up. Personally, we like the select sale here, a few we will go after, as we will for the Festival sale, so fingers crossed that it's not a price south sale here or Syd for that matter.
  12. Cropp made many outrageous claims, even suggested I was an idiot, she had to get one right though, I spose.
  13. Gee, they are strong rumours over there, Betfair is usually the best indicator, however, it may have been spread between the other corps? He's no rocket scientist though, WTF was he thinking?
  14. Should have been declared a no race. It was obvious to everyone, stipes included. The winner receives 'help' from someone behind it, connected to the winning jock, a corrupt outcome, the bookies are the losers too, however from an animal and human welfare angle, bye bye Josh, go and get some help, if Stubby had of been killed, he could have and should have faced a manslaughter charge, at the very least.
  15. Another is that 'someone' had 10 large on the winner
  16. Isn't he a lovely type, Padraig? what will be a shame if Power keeps on keeping on, is the possibility that he wont win the title as 1st season should another with only 1-2 runners all season wins the Karaka Mil. That's the problem with closed races, the prize money from Karaka is counted in the wash up, it should be, champion sire counting all races bar the Karaka closed, contentious, probably.
  17. He's got lots more hair then me VS, Lots, otherwise it's like we were separated at birth.
  18. Bernie rode a bit of work for us, she wasn't a rock star then though, she turned her life around, she is the living proof that it can be done, if she had of been born 10 years later she'd have been a star, the women jocks in Oz of the late 80's and through the 90's with one or two exceptions crashed and burned through one reason or another, in NZ I think it was different and made life much easier for the girls coming through Ted.
  19. I think she's as good as Bernie in QLD, she should have a good eye for a horse, God alone knows for a young lady she's got heaps of experience, good luck to her.
  20. Ok, a little left field here, however this really pisses me off, how about you lot? Boris Johnson made a statement a while back, it was lovely to hear him say'' we owe an apology to NZ, Australia and some of our other Commonwealth partners for what Britain did to them when joining the common market back 60's. It was Boris's wish that Britain made it easier for Kiwi's and Aussies to travel, work and stay in Britain. He was very very transparent! Now Theresa May is being quoted as saying she has no plans to change the status quo and indeed she is looking at 'new' rules and criteria relating to NZ and AUS working visas! Ok, how is this relevant to racing you may well ask? Well, Sydney in particular has an Irishman riding there, he's slaying them, does Ireland have differing immigration laws? same here, Sam Wynne is Irish, she plies her trade here, so maybe, hopefully Ireland has a reciprocity agreement with NZ......and AUS, because, if UK is clamping down on all NZ citizens and AUS citizens then I'm sorry as tough as it might be for employers in the racing industry [be it they need UK workers] then we need to 'tit for tat' and ask all UK citizens to be ready to leave our shores due to reciprocity. I'm pissed to see UK, and French jocks taking food off the table of NZ and Kiwi jocks and yet our boys cannot work their trade over there......shortly, .......according to latest reports! Means Godolphin will need to bye bye James Doyle, and B Baker has 2 or 3 Pom jocks in tow.......your thoughts.
  21. Pretty much like Trentham really, once striking, iconic, sexy even, then just sad.
  22. Or is it just a case of creative writing? in other words, fiction? our company has to comply with certain guidelines, we cannot claim income derived from one source is indeed from another, as the boss, I'd be in deep Kuk..
  23. Interesting to read your comments ''this is a crime unfolding'' if you knowingly release a document with incorrect information enclosed is this not indeed punishable with a custodial sentence? and who in fact would be liable? The author? or the person responsible for the documents release?
