Has anyone else heard about the suggestion from the board about a $2000 per dog import fee which can be refunded if the dog is returned to Aussie when its racing days
Yes agree Brian did a great job on Friday night and greyhound racing need him back on deck. Mark does a job good calling but i think his forte is presenting with his wealth of knowledge he comes across very well when in that roll.
Just read a coms from Greg Kerr stating that due to the reported suggestion of Green Tea being in Coprice that it should not be fed 72 hrs before a dog races I know this kibble is used by a number of trainers so will be interesting if any postives are detected over the next 3-4 days and what the outcome would be if proven if coprice was the source.
Do we need to go back to less midweek race meetings. Racing is becoming a bore with wall to wall racing its just like being married to the same partner for a time and you need to spice it up so its something to look forward to.
Steve have to agree the food they presented was a bloody embrasment which they offered to the guests, if finances are a problem I would suggest they find a sponsor. They need to come Christchurch to see what the guests are offered.
Understand from my northern contact that a certain ex Aussie trainer had input on the way the track was presented on Sunday he stated that the track was in good nick.
Also on the pervious web site you could click onto a jockey and it would show the mounts that jockey had for that meeting which could be used as a quick reference which saved you going through each race to see their mounts if you follow a particular jockey.
I pretty sure Wayne trained the horse Account that was placed in the Derby a while back I think he trained out of Te Rapa.
And I am sure Phliappa will make the grade with her trackside carrer.
Just get rid of the trackside presenters full stop does anyone really take note of what they have to say, and the after race interviews they can be very long winded at times the jocks would be happy.
With the influx of the main two breeders sending their 2nd/3rd tier dogs North it will certainly weaken the grade of dog in the northern region wont be many cup contenders etc coming from that region apart from the Craiks who seem to get good results from the litters they rare. As i stated on my pervious comment the northern region certainly needs an injection of people and dogs to continue.
P.S Add Karen Walsh to being a successful breeder/ rearer.
Come on dont keep us all ln suspense put a name to who it is . My guess it may be an ex CD kennel employee. Which wont be a bad thing as the northern region dog numbers have stagnated. If it wasnt for the likes of Opawa/Coles suppling dogs to northern kennels Auckland/Waikato would be struggling to fill certain grades.Punters HQ would of seen an oppturnity to send dogs into the northern region.
Just my thoughts that Winx will need to be ridden closer to the pace considering the short run home if their is a there is a tear away pacemaker with a decent break on the home turn.
a huge fan of this great mare like many others and I hold my breath every time she jumps that she will keep her record in tack.
GRV are considering that air conditioning units be fitted to trailers etc when transporting dogs when temperatures reach in the high thirtys when traveling 3-4 hours to a meeting.no doubt NZGRA will follow suit. Just think how this may effect the trainers who travel a lot here in N Z
